    Summary

    Izuku and Aizawa are caught in a loop of the USJ, dying and trying and failing over and over again until finally, finally, they break the cycle.

    But they're not the same as the reality that they've returned to, and with the events of a single day changed for only two people, a drop falls into the ink of their world, and the story rewrites itself from there.

    Anthology containing:

    Climbing The Rigging And Counting Bloody Dreams (Never Quite There)

    The USJ attack is awful and traumatic, and it goes worse than anyone could have predicted.

    But then it happens again, and again, and again, with Izuku and Aizawa caught right in the bloody, cycling centre of it.

    ~~~
    Regardless, he needs to think now. Because yesterday was a carbon copy of the day before, excluding a few little conversation changes like people asking if he was okay and then things that changed because of his own actions, but Aizawa-sensei still died and then he threw himself in front of Asui and died, and then everything went black and he woke up to his All Might alarm again and-
    And Izuku doesn't know what to do.
    ~~~

    They both move the few inches to squeeze their hands together then, feeling the bloodstains that aren't there right now, but, more than that, feeling the body heat-warmth and knowing that the other is alive, present, with them. Right now, for a few moments, they're okay.

    We Didn't Break Then (So Don't Falter Now)

    Izuku and Aizawa survived the USJ timeloop. (They died so many times, killed and saved and failed over and over, and they'll forever be able to feel the blood on their hands-) They didn't break.

    But one success doesn't stop reality from returning, and the rest of their story is piling up in front of them, demanding to be faced. And what are heroes to do but to keep fighting?

    So they'll keep on moving, and they won't break now.

    ~

    "Thank you, Shouta."  It's a deliberate word choice, just like it was when they left the USJ and when they left the Midoriya apartment, as it is deliberate how Izuku reaches out, palm-up and fingers splayed, bloodstains and a single rose-gold shimmer laid bare.
    And Aizawa slips his own callouses and bloodstains against it, not-now rust flaking away between their warmth, and they squeeze thrice, just like in their death throes and promises and quiet grief. Like this, with this, things will be alright. Together, they'll make sure of it.

    (The longfic following from my Climbing The Rigging And Counting Bloody Dreams (Never Quite There)!)

    Through Their Eyes, The Unbroken (The Moments Sweet And Bitter Both)

    The loops have had a lot of ramifications, and whilst most of them are directly upon Izuku and Shouta themselves, there is also the wider butterfly-ripples, the things that have affected their friends and class and colleagues.

    The faculty, in particular, get to be privy to several of Shouta and Izuku's quieter moments, glimmers of Izuku's intelligence and of their knife and of naps to catch up on lost sleep.

    ~~~
    For now, however, they simply observe from a distance as they watch Shouta hunch his shoulders, take two deep, shuddering breaths, and get his phone out to send a text or two off. It's halfway through lunch and Shouta has been blatantly on-edge for hours already, in his free periods or the times they pass him in the corridors, and now. One of his knees is bouncing, very slowly and slightly and deliberately.
    And none of them were fully expecting Izuku to turn up at a blatantly quick pace, knocking very briefly upon the faculty door except he's already coming into the room, knife in hand and a faint frown on his face.
    Forever Coming Home (To A Heartbeat He Can Always Trust)
    Izuku is worried.
    Shouta can handle himself. It's literally just a patrol, and he's not terribly late.
    Except Izuku has watched Shouta die far too many times to not worry, to not think of all of the worst possibilities, and to have to wait, in their home, Hizashi asleep and one of the cats keeping him company... It's an agony of his own.
    Good thing that Shouta comes back to him unharmed, then.
    (For my own birthday, I wanted to write myself some 28 on the mid-day of the 28 month, so here we are~)
    Roots Intertwined (In Devotion), Keeping Them Together (Keeping Them Unbroken)
    Shouta is having a bad night, and Izuku notices, comes to comfort him, to remind him that they didn't break.
    And Hizashi gets home hours later to find them asleep, calm, and gets them set up for a content day together.
    ~~~

    Some combination of all of this is why, when he has woken up from a quiet nightmare for the third time tonight, Shouta isn't all that surprised to have a quiet knock on his ajar door, dark curls tumbling through the gap. Green eyes, too-bright for how dark the room is, blink at him.

    "Want some company?"

    "If you're about," the man returns, not wanting Izuku to feel pressure, but also unwilling to push him away right now. (Not when he's just watched Izuku die two-dozen times in his memories, clutching at blood and bone and gone-slack hands-)

    Izuku doesn't quite falter at Shouta's bedside, but his hand wavers at the edge of it, until Shouta flicks over the edge of the blankets, inviting Izuku underneath too.

    The Day Of The Unbroken, Of The Fractured

    The only non-28 date I'll ever post a 28 fic on - 11/04 is the anniversary of the loops for Shouta and Izuku, and it's not fun :)

    ~

    No matter what he does he only sees the shatter and swell of a broken cheek bone, of an eye that is closed but he knows would be blank if he could see it, because nobody can be bent backwards over a solid wall at that angle and survive. It's odd how someone taller than him, mature and steady and strong, suddenly looks so much like a child. Are those the broad shoulders of a man, a hero, or are they the still-slim shoulders of a teenager?

    They are both, perhaps, but always too much of a child for Izuku to ever think of anything else when that vision assaults him.

    Through it all, there is a heavy, cloying smell lodged in his throat. It is salt water and burning wood and iron, sharp, acidic, ferrous. It is death. There's a certain quality to it, something he doesn't know how to quantify. Izuku knows that no matter how times he showers or throws up or tries to override the scent, he'll never be free of it. Not really. He can smell it, even now, blinking reality over the top of his flashbacks.

    Izuku needs to get out. He needs to go now.

    Summary

    An actual series for the more-than-I-expected Kidilante OSs to join the main fic. This universe is my absolute baby, so enjoy!

    Anthology containing:

    His Kidilante

    Izuku is a vigilante, and frankly it's the only good thing in his life. Or at the very least, it's brought about all of the good things. He loves nothing more than patrolling under the stars with Eraserhead at his side and Tsukauchi a phone call away.

    So even though his civilian life might finally be amounting to something, now that he's getting into UA with a chance of becoming an actually-Licensed hero, he can't give his vigilantism up.

    Equally, Aizawa isn't giving up on his Kidilante. The kid's been his for three years already, there's no way that those half-completed adoption papers in his desk drawer are going to go to waste. If only he had time to breathe beyond keeping his Kidilante safe, alongside his new class who are apparently villain magnets. It's going to be a long year.

    (This is to fulfil every part of my pathetic little soul that just loves the ''angsty! but kind! little shit! Izuku who's an insomniac Quirkless vigilante that Aizawa is 100% determined to adopt if only he could figure out his real identity but he refuses to force it out of him now because it took him years to earn that trust dammit and he'll wait another two if that's what it takes'' trope.)

    Give Me Some Time (I'll Give You A Home)

    Izuku has been a vigilante for a few months and this is the first time he's dared to let his guard down even a little bit. Eraserhead is a good hero, he knows. It's just a matter of whether he's a good person for Izuku.

    (The answer to that, of course, is that he is. In fact, he's the best.)

    Their Aizawas

    Aizawa and Izuku get a call during class and, well, a hero's got to do his duty, so off they go. 1-A are left in their wake, worried. Turns out, they don't really need to be.

    (A fluffy, funny little OS of a day in the life of the Hell Class of my Kidilante AU)

    See My Rage (Hold Me Closer)

    Izuku's day has already been bad, but then some stupid snot from Management has to go and insult his class. His Dad. And Izuku? Well, he's not going to stand for that, particularly not today.

    Aizawa's day hasn't been bad per se, but it's been tinged by worrying for his precious brat. So when Nedzu asks for him to head back towards his homeroom during lunch, he doesn't hesitate to rush. And that's where he finds his kid. (Well, all of his hellspawn, but his kid in particular.) It's not a pretty sight.

    Time Well-Spent Is Time Spent Together

    Izuku, Hitoshi and Shouto go on a date. That's it, really. They're soft and fluffy and oh-so sweet, because they have nothing short of absolute adoration for each other.

    But before then, Aizawa needs to actually wake his Problem Child up.

    A Kidilante Christmas

    This is Izuku's first Christmas as an official Aizawa and there's no way his family and boyfriends aren't going to make sure it's perfect.

    He's just happy to be with them all.

    (A chaotic, fluffy mess of a Christmas day for my Kidilante AU)

    You Going To Stick Around? (Am I Going To Remember You're Gone?)

    Izuku - well, Kidilante - is patrolling and all's fine. Until he interferes with a mugging, forgets that Tsukauchi is very much not around to vouch for him in front of random police officers and, well, he is a vigilante. Better start running!

    (Another piece of fluff/ fun for my Kidilante AU, this one set before the events of canon - the title is overdramatic but I reckon that suits Kidzu quite well.)

    A Year By Your Side (A Lifetime of Love)

    Aizawa adopted his kid a year ago to the day, and they spend the anniversary together in quiet celebration, with all of the cats, cuddles and contentment that comes with that. They patrol, and eat sandwiches, and watch television, and there's nothing that could be more perfect for them.

    (It's been exactly a year since I posted the first His Kidilante chapter, and I wanted to write an anniversary OS for us all to enjoy!)

    Two Very Different Types Of Uncle, Neither Of Which Are Actually Uncles

    It's a week after Christmas and, as promised, Tsukauchi takes Izuku to a cat shelter to pick the kid a new cat to add to the three already at the Aizawa home.
    But this is Izuku - Kidilante - and that means that everything has to be far too chaotic and far too cute for the poor detective's sanity. At least there's cats to cuddle.

    (Another installment in my Kidilante AU - we finally get a certain cat's official introduction!)

    Butterfly Ripples Are The Prettiest, Ugliest Things

    Izuku - Kidilante - gets hit by a Quirk on patrol because of course he does, he's Eraserdad's Problem Child for a reason, but luckily he just gets dizzy for a minute, something heavy at the base of his spine and itching along with scalp, so he keeps fighting and warns his hero later.

    He wakes up the next morning in a room that's not his own, but finds his Dad in the kitchen anyway. Except, maybe he doesn't?

    Alt. title - Knives, Tails and Scars - Spot The Difference!

    (My Kidzu and Tsune!Izuku get swapped into each others' universes, so enjoy the shenanigans of them being introduced to each other's families and friends - everyone certainly gets a shock at the differences between them, yet some things never change.)

    Problem Child Is Purring And It's Cute, Okay?

    Because Kidilante can never keep his grubby little hands out of danger and tomfoolery, Eraserhead's pseudo-son gets hit by a Quirk on patrol and is promptly turned into a cat for a day. And, well, he can't just let the kid go to whatever kind of home doesn't notice that a child is out getting into fights every other night, so Aizawa scoops the kitten up and keeps it safe.

    If that means that he has a small, sassy and very adorable cat curled up in his capture weapon all day, then so be it.

    (Another little OS for the Kidilante universe, this one a pre-UA glimpse into the shenanigans of our Aizawas - Eraserdad is soft and tired, Izuku is soft and tired, and neither of them want to leave each other's side.)

    Family Fueds (Except It's Fluff And Fun Instead)

    Aizawa and his kid fight, of course, but there's never heat behind it, only amusement and sarcasm and intrinsic knowledge of each other. That good nature doesn't stop it being chaotic for all involved.

    The fact that this chaos can range from daring a teacher to eat tinned cat food to arguing with his Dad about buying cat food whilst in class, well, that's by the by.

    (A quick little Kidilante one-shot because Kil was having a rough time and they're a darling~)

    A Certain Coffee Thief (Kidilante Strikes Again)

    It starts when Kidilante, hesitant but cheeky, steals his hero's coffee upon a rooftop, before either of them even fully trusted each other.

    It continues in alleyways and police precincts; in classrooms and their kitchen, and sometimes other people bear witness to the chaos. The trauma is not something Izuku is going to take responsibility for.

    (Hey, hey, Kil - "mm, tasty" ... "kid, no.")

    (ToiletPaper)Father's Day

    Izuku just wants his Dad to actually have a nice day, it is Father's Day after all!

    If it has to start with literally pinning him down to make him stay in bed for even just half an hour longer, then so be it.

    (An admittedly last-minute fic for Father's Day because I've got less than twenty hours to do about five other fic things, but dammit I wanted Kidilante dad fluff, even if it's less than a thousand words of it!)

    A Night All Of Our Own (Family-Forged, Heartbeat-Rhythmed And Oh-So Perfect)

    It's a normal night for Izuku and his Dad. They get ready, with the help of each other and - more questionably - the cats, say goodbye to the rest of the class, and head off into the night for a patrol.

    They spend time with Tsuka and the stars, they deal with crime and they stake-out a potential raid location. They dance in the way that they know best, with blows and weapons and grins Cheshire-fierce, and at the end of it all they lean upon each other and know that this, right here and right now, is home.

    (A Kidilante one-shot to celebrate my baby's 100-chapter-versary, plus the fact that we hit 400k hits last week!!)

    An Eclipse-Born Blood Moon, The Safest Of Sights

    Shouta fights best under moonlight. But that doesn't mean he can't fight under daylight.

    Capture weapon whirling, eyes flashing, he lets himself snarl and snap as he moves. That's his kid that's bloody-templed and trying to get back to his feet, knives in hand and a matching Cheshire snarl of his own. They're both Aizawas, after all.

    And with this knowledge held iron-clutched to their breastbones, they fight.

    (A little kidilante OS for a change of pace, but you don't need to have read kidilante for this, honestly-)

    The Time That Aizawa Was Done And Some Of The Class Tried To Tickle Izuku

    "Kid, what do you have to say for yourself?"

    "Uh, depends on what you want to hear, I guess?"

    "I want to hear that I'm sleeping and this is all a dream."

    "I can knock you out, if you want?"

    "Kid, no.... Tempting, admittedly, but no."

    (A tiny lil' bit of Kidilante dorm shenanigans because I really do love this bit of dialogue from my notes)

    Summary

    I'm always here for you, even if nobody is here for me.

    Midoriya Izuku is a normal boy. He has a Quirk and everything! But a seemingly weak Quirk isn't enough. Being kind isn't enough. And so Izuku suffers, even as he refuses to let go of his goals. He will be a hero, no matter what it takes, because he can be. Despite all the voices telling him he can't, he can. Izuku just has to prove it.

    " Midoriya Izuku, four years old and already an anxious child, is waiting for his Quirk to come in. He’s been waiting for eight days, four hours and… thirty seven minutes. -- And then it came. It didn’t arrive in a flurry of sparks that stained the air with a sweet smell like Kaachan’s, or tear through a worksheet halfway through class like Shibata’s extendable fingers, or mean that he comes into school one day with big dragon wings like Tsubasa. Instead, Izuku wakes up on the twelfth day, and he isn’t human. "

    TLDR - Izuku has a kitsune Quirk and is determined to become an underground hero - he will makes lots of friends and a Dadzawa along the way, although things are never quite easy.
