We Take Our Places in the Dark (and Turn Our Hearts to the Stars) Anthology by F-117 Nighthawk (F117_Nighthawk)
Fandoms: Star Wars - All Media Types
30 Aug 2020
Summary
The legend of The Chosen One has passed down for generations within the Jedi Order. Ever since the First Great Schism, since the Light first came into conflict with the Dark, there has been the hope that a Jedi would rise with the power to bring balance back to the Force. Of course, these Chosen Ones are never listened to. From Xendor to Revan to Skywalker, the Jedi Council has not listened to the concerns of the one they so desperately wished for.
This is not the story of one listened to, nor is this the story of one who listened. This is the story of the Jedi whose words fell upon selectively deaf ears. This is the story of the Sith who fell to the cold, dead-star dragon. This is the story of three Grey Warriors who dragged themselves to their place in the dark, even as their hearts looked to the still-living stars.
Anthology containing:
Hard Conversations in the Hangar
After leaving Tatooine, sans huttlett, Anakin can't sleep. He ends up in the hangar, where Obi-Wan drags half of the reason out of him and convinces him to tell Ahsoka the other half.
Conversations With Simulations (We Found Our Roles in a Tragedy)
On Mortis, the trio has a few more conversations with figures long dead. The surface meanings are easy enough to understand, but the true depth of the conversations won't be understood by those partaking for years.
(Even When They're Covered Up) These Questions in Your Gut Won't Fade
Yoda deposited two teacups in front of Obi-Wan and Jocasta and took the third for himself. "Unsettling things in the Archives, there always have been. Around Sith Lords, all the more, and Revan was one of the strongest."
"Master, it was not what was in the Archives, but what wasn't."
Yoda paused, teacup halfway to his mouth. "Another Kamino, you think we have?"After Obi-Wan brings the Archive's distinct lack of records in the aftermath of the Mandalorian Wars to her attention, Jocasta Nu goes on a hunt through the Library of the Republic. She finds a friend, an unnerving conspiracy around a Supreme Commander of the Republic, and, just possibly, a Sith.
Field Promotion
How did Rex learn about his promotion?
Little Star
Padmé and Anakin have a discussion about baby names once they're finally back in the apartment.
Doomsday (We Had It Coming)
All things die, Anakin Skywalker. Even stars… burn out.
An encounter with Shaak Ti calls to mind a conversation Anakin Skywalker had on Mortis and he finally realizes that his actions will not bring him what he wants.
Sidious is not happy with this.Shelves: Star Wars Fics
