    Summary

Our second anthology is inspired by myths and traditions associated with the Summer Solstice. Since prehistory, the Summer Solstice has been seen as a significant time of year in many cultures, and since it’s often been associated with mystique and the supernatural, this day is related to an abundance of rituals, myths and folklore.

Let us take you on a journey through Europe as we explore the myths and traditions of this special day. We give you seven one-shots filled with magic, myth, and folklore; bonfires, flowers, and costumes; fluff, smut, angst, and humour; pining, banter, and magical creatures — this anthology has it all.

    Anthology containing:

Sweden | A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Drarrelie

With the war finally over, you’d think Harry would finally be granted that “normal life” he’s always dreamt about. Finally free from the Dursleys, from that nose-less megalomaniac, from Horcruxes, Hollows, Death Eaters, Dementors, Prophecies… you’d think that he, for the first time in his life, would be allowed to be just a normal teenager. You’d think he’d deserve that much, right?

But then you haven’t considered Luna Lovegood. Luna, who has the most whimsical ideas that no one ever takes seriously. Luna, who apparently has Swedish heritage and knows about some strange Summer Solstice ritual that she wants to perform. Luna, who’s so sweet and kind that you can’t help but humour her when she offers you some distraction from your post-war confusion.

Harry knows he should’ve known better, knows he shouldn’t have let her persuade him to go through with it. But he did.

And now, Harry’s life will probably never be normal again.

    Spain | Well-Deserved by protectnevillelongbottom

Harry and Draco take their annual birthday trip together to celebrate Spain's midsummer traditions, surprising each other along the way.

UK/Ireland | Planned Performances by Janieohio

Following the war, the Hogwarts staff decides it’s a good idea to require the eighth-year students to put on a play for a Summer Solstice celebration. Harry may be oblivious, but eventually, not even he can ignore the signs of his and Draco’s sexual tension. It only takes Shakespeare and some skimpy festival costumes to get him to make his move.

Poland | A Faint Glow of Hope by EvAEleanor

On Draco’s 25th birthday, somebody attempts to curse him, but Harry Potter jumps between them and is hit instead, with unexpected consequences. Potter is running out of time, and they both embark on a race against time to find the only cure that could save Harry. Little do they know they will need to face a myriad of magical creatures and their own feelings on the way.

Austria | A Bonfire, a Leap, and a Very Silly Myth, Indeed by bottseveryflavorbeans

Harry sits alone, watching the Solstice Festival, a new tradition to celebrate good fortune put together by Hermione and a committee of Hogwarts students. The party is underway, with everyone drinking around bonfires, laughing, and basically being happier than him.

Draco finds him, decides Harry needs some cheering up, and convinces him to take a leap that leads to something Harry only just realized he’d wanted for a long time.

Russia | Fates Entwined by Drarrymadhatter

Hogwarts is celebrating Midsummer the Russian way and Harry’s miserable and bitter. Everyone seems to be moving on and finding love except him. As the day goes on, he finds himself forced to participate in the festivities with Draco Malfoy as a reluctant companion.

Scotland | I'm Terrified, But the Truth is This... by JessicaDoom

Okay, so…Draco Malfoy has a thing for Harry Potter. Honestly, how could he not?

When Harry invites him to be his "date" to his friends' wedding, Draco goes all-in on a soul-bearing display of his real feelings for the man. Once it becomes obvious that he misinterpreted Harry's intentions, Draco begins to feel like all hope has been lost on his Chosen One ever returning those feelings. Through the magic of the Summer Solstice (and perhaps a bit too much wine), he finally finds the courage to take his shot.
