    Anthology containing:

    Trading Pledges

Courtship negotiations are always tricky, but in a time of war? A dwarf-woman makes her choice. A prequel short for the Dûnhebaid Cycle, and a birthday present for Aranel Took. MEFA 2008: First Place in Dwarves: General.

    Rock and Hawk

Fell things prey on the Dunedain and Dwarves of the Ered Luin. What can one wise woman do? The Dûnhebaid Cycle, Part I.

MEFA 2007: Third Place in Races: Cross-Cultural: General.

    Fair Folk and Foul

Fell fiends still prowl the mountains, and now there is an elven ship offshore. Will Saelon and the remnants of the Dúnedain of Srathen Brethil find refuge near the sea, or will they be forced to seek vengeance in alliance with the Dwarves, to return to their homes in safety? The Dûnhebaid Cycle, Part II.

MEFA 2007: Honorable Mention in Races:
    Cross-Cultural: General.

    Of Like Passion

The fiends have been slain, and the Men and Dwarves of Dûnhebaid are hoping for peace and prosperity. Yet monstrous foes make other irritations seem trifling. Out of that shade, quarrels are like to bloom . . . and Lindon takes steps to deal with the interlopers. The Dûnhebaid Cycle, Part III.

    After Stormy Seas

Saelon journeys to the Grey Havens to pay for her folk's use of the Elves' land, in company with men of three races—all of whom have their doubts about each other. Will they make is so far, without destroying the ties that bind them? If they do, will Veylin succeed in coming to his own agreement with Círdan, and what will the Shipwright think of Saelon's attachment to the Sea? The Dûnhebaid Cycle, Part IV.

    Hand to Hand

Putting Lindon behind them, Saelon and Dírmaen return to Habad-e-Mindon . . . and the matter of the Ranger's unrequited love. And are things really going as well for Veylin as they seem? The Dûnhebaid Cycle, Part V.

    Secret Chambers of the Heart

Dwarves seldom speak of what is in their hearts . . . but that doesn't mean there's nothing there but a lust for gold.  The Dûnhebaid Cycle, Part VI.

    Loudwater

A very different perspective on the Flight across the Ford. A birthday drabble for Imhiriel. MEFA 2008: Third Place in Late Third Age: General Fixed-Length Ficlets.

    Triptych

Three lessons from the masters.  A birthday offering for Elena Tiriel from the Dûnhebaid.

    The Dûnhebaid Dictionary

This is a collection of the unusual, archaic, arcane, misunderstood, and/or special-purpose words I delight in using in my stories, along with my sometimes long-winded and tangential definitions. Please feel free to use any that strike your fancy!

    Summary

An ambitious young Noldorin man of Ost-in-Edhil lands a coveted appointment as an apprentice to the most skilled master smith of the Gwaith-i-Mirdain: Istyar Aulendil. The apprentice's mentor, a prodigy of the Aulënossë, has been sent to Middle-earth by the Valar and has knowledge of exotic and wondrous technology. Istyar Aulendil also has notoriously high standards. The apprentice must meet his mentor's expectations if he is to become a journeyman and work on an important new initiative.

Adult rating is given for mature references , but in particular for examination of a mortal man's disturbed thoughts and sexual predilections: non-consensual sex and pederasty are commented upon in Chapters 7 & 9, but there are no explicit descriptions of such. The Adult rating is also given for some violent imagery in Chapter 12. As for the alternative history and my abiding affection for "scientifiction," well, forewarned is forearmed.

    Summary

His father named him "wanderer"; but everyone called him Pippin. He was the youngest Companion of the Fellowship of the Ring, an innocent and foolish lad who walked heedlessly into legend. Twelve years after the War of the Ring, feeling trapped by responsibilities he doesn't want, Peregrin Took struggles with a restlessness he can no longer deny. Now, traveling amidst the vast and unexplored vistas of Far Harad, caught up in a war against a tyrannical Magician and the quest for a legendary Jewel, this impossibly curious, recklessly courageous hobbit discovers unexpected friends, devious foes, and a girl who will claim his heart, as he searches for the meaning of home.

    Summary

How did Denethor ever end up married to Finduilas of Dol Amroth? And given that Aragorn was in Gondor at the time, under the name Thorongil, might he not have been interested in this courtship? This romance is told partly through the eyes of each of the three individuals involved (plus Imrahil), and partly through the medium of letters between them all. First of the Steward's Family sequence. No objectionable content. By Celandine.

  13. Summary

A ridiculous AU in which Rivendell bears a striking resemblance to modern day Calgary, Alberta. Elladan's journal records his daily life, beginning the summer before the Fellowship of the Ring is formed. Implied and non-graphic sexuality, both slash and het. Newest chapter: Haldir is introduced to Thranduil as a potential new best friend, Elrohir winds up in a retirement home for disabled veterans of the Last Alliance, and Elladan poses for campaign photos after being forced into running in the upcoming election.

AU. One less arrow at Amon Hen and things go much differently for beloved good-bad son of Gondor. A veritable odyssey for Boromir ensues, complete with manipulative Valar, exiled elves, Radagast the Brown, and a helpful chorus.

Action, adventure, angst, humor. Mixed writing styles (prose and poetry), with a Greco-Roman feel. Rated for violence and adult themes. A warning to the squeamish.
