    Meta human (affectionate)

Tim has a crush on Conner.

Conner has a crush on Tim.

Do either of them realise this? No.

Then Jason uncovers a plot to take down the Supers, and needs to stop it from happening.

He doesn't know how though, the batfam doesn't know that he's alive.

    Maybe his replacement can help...

    -

Otherwise known as, My friend and I were talking about Tim calling Kon a meta human affectionately and Bruce saying it as derogatory and now we're here. I actually have a full plot for this story so we'll see where we end up.

    Bonus Scenes (affectionate)

Bonus scenes for any works in the (affectionate) series. Will make no sense without the context of the rest of the series.

    NSFW (affectionate)

I wrote the original piece for someone who does not read smut, and while I hold no judgement for anyone who doesn't like reading it, I like writing it. This is set in the (affectionate) verse, but can be read as a stand alone.

  2. Summary

“So!” Dick says with great fanfare, throwing himself across Bruce’s designated chair with nary a care in the world.

The Justice League look on with a mix of befuddled awe, like they’ve never seen a child dressed up like a traffic light before. Which they haven't. Bruce mentally steels himself as Dick clears his throat. “Why am I here, you ask? Well, when two people love one another very, very much-”

    “You’re adopted.” Bruce says.

Or; Bruce lets Dick attend a Justice League meeting on the Watchtower. Bruce has regrets.

“Well,” says Steph, “if the multiverse really is infinite, doesn’t that mean there’s a universe out there where Luthor did buy Twitter?”

“I really don’t want to imagine an internet run by Luthor,” says Dick with a shudder.

“I do. Well, not the whole internet. Just Twitter.”

“Yeah, actually, what would that even look like?”

    or: it's happening somewhere, right?

    Summary

The Avatar cycle ended with Avatar Korra. No benders were born after Avatar Korra's death, for many generations.

The modern world has forgotten bending, for the most part. It makes it easy for the Bats, really - nobody looks for the way the elements bend slightly to their will with each strike.

(Or: One by one, the Bats join the Order.)

    Anthology containing:

    A Stone Foundation

Bruce Wayne, fresh out of training with the League of Assassins, decides to travel just for a while longer. He stumbles upon a fishing village on the Jang Hui river.

(The world has forgotten about benders. Bruce would have ignored the myths too, if he weren't one himself.)

    Stronger Together

A look into Bruce's relationship with the founding members of the Justice League.

    Weaving Through The Wind

Dick Grayson leaves Gotham, leaves Robin, and learns to fly.

(Dick joins the White Lotus through... unconventional means.

He knew he would meet many people during his travels - he just never expected to meet a spirit.)

    Spreading Wings

Back in Gotham, with a new suit and a new skillset to compliment Bat-training, all Dick really knows is that he's no longer Robin. There's time to choose a new name, though, and he finds it eventually.

Or, How Dick chooses his new vigilante name.

    Off the Edge

It was not that he did not trust his friends - he just... forgot to tell them.

When it comes down to it, Dick pulls out all the stops to help out a teammate.

    Fire by the Shore

It took time, but sometimes time was all that was needed.

(Dick mourns his little brother, Bruce mourns his son. Tim mourns, and makes a friend.)

    Life's Ebbs and Flows

Cassandra's story, from nameless weapon to member of the Wayne family. Fear, hope, family. Discovery, friends, joy.

    Loss, and grief.

    Burning Iceberg

Jason woke up to green, liquid flames.

Turns out that waterbenders and magical pools which gave swimmers firebending was not a good mix.

(Instead of going to Gotham, instead of being a missile landing on home, he has just enough presence of mind to get as far away as he can - the South Pole, to be exact.)

    Making A Splash

Is stealing away his baby brother from the League of Assassins - by himself - a bad idea? Yes, yes it is.

Does Jason care? No, of course not.

(Jason brings Damian home, after a few explosions. No biggie.)

    Swamps and Pit-stops

Jason has some loose ends to tie up, and Dick does not feel like leaving his little brother alone.

    (Not-so-life-changing field trips ensue.)

    Masked Acting

What goes down in Gotham, stays in Gotham. The Bats are hunkering down in their home turf as a new player hits the streets. They go by Red Hood.

(Told from the Bat-perspective - AKA, let's fool the superhero community)

    New Dawn

Red Hood adds a Bat to his costume, and Tim bonds with his siblings.

    Waiting on Waves

Jason's White Lotus contact had informed him of targeted kidnappings of young waterbenders. Jason took it upon himself to investigate.

The contact had been right, as he soon learnt.

    Dust off the Rust

Steph did not die. She's surprised by that, herself.

She's grateful she's alive, sure, but why did the badgermole that saved her have to travel all the way to a different continent instead of, say, the Batcave?

    The Dragon's Den

The floor is lava. No, literally.

The mission first derailed when Damian snuck onto the Batjet. It only escalated from there.

    A Dragon's Breath

In which Tim and Jason track down a lost sky bison.

(The best plans are made with good intel - or, in other words, improvised after convenient eavesdropping.)

    Bunny Buddy

Look, Dick wasn't even looking for a pet. Technically, a spirit wasn't a pet, either.

    Add Oil, Keep Fighting

    Bruce is dead.

Tim sees Damian drowning in grief, and makes a decision.

(He finds out Bruce is alive, and makes many more decisions. Jason would like to have words with Tim.)

    Jasmine's Teahouse

Cass arrives in Republic City, finds a job, and finds some friends.

(The Kyoshi Warriors live on through their skills and techniques.)

    The Fire Four

At the start, Tim told himself that he would not reveal his firebending to his new team. Time passed, and Tim told them his name. He even started using his firebending around the base.

He realised then that his friends were really bad detectives.

    Eye for an Eye

Ra's decrees the death of his traitorous heir.

He's about to have two traitorous heirs.

    A Pulse, A Breath

Lex Luthor gives Nightwing a pill to stop his heart. Batman knocks him out before he can deliver a shot of adrenaline. To Luthor, Nightwing is dead.

(He is, for a moment - but the Bats cling to life with an unrivalled conviction.)

    Find Our Way

Mara al Ghul journeys to rid herself of her past. She finds herself, along with some friends.

Oh, and her Cousin is here, too.

    Network of Roots

Barbara Gordon is as part of the growing White Lotus presence in Gotham as any of the Bats.

(A look into the life of one Barbara Gordon.)

    On Streets and High Perches

How do you beat an enemy that has seen your whole deck?

    Simple; you introduce new cards.

(The Court of Owls know the Bats well, but they don't know the White Lotus.)

    Human-Sized Pinball

Steph learnt more than just metalbending from her adventures abroad.

The game was originally played by metalbenders, but the Bats were creative enough to get around that.

    Through a Wavy Mirror

Dick and Jason go dark spirit-hunting, only to find themselves getting dragged through a portal.

Meanwhile, Signal finds something interesting during his own spirit-hunt.

    (Reverse Robins, bending included!)

    Bloom From The Mud

The implication was obvious. Tim leaned forward, his bad mood dissolving. “Lotus Protocol?”

“Active,” Batman confirmed. He lifted his gaze to meet Tim’s siblings too, split into their teams around the large Justice League meeting room. “That goes for all of you.”

(A large-scale alien invasion calls for some... extra firepower.)

    Anthology containing:

    Last Train Out Tonight

After Young Justice season 2: They won the war but Dick’s lost more than he can bear. Feeling unwanted, he chooses to go on a one way trip to an alternate Earth. But there is no outrunning his pain. Lucky for him, counterparts of his family in this AU Earth teach him that sometimes you have to leave one home to find the true home of your heart. No Slash.

    Ice Cream Social

Sequel to Last Train out Tonight. Feels more like an epilog to that story because I can’t get enough of those Wayne boys. Dick’s home, even safely tucked in his bed, but it’s taking his family a moment to truly accept he’s back with them where he belongs. No slash.

    Sidetracked

Sequel to Last Train Out Tonight. Seeking a little freedom, Dick heads out to visit Clark but, surprise surprise, trouble finds him along the way. Emotional backlashes ensue because with the Bats, nothing is easy. NO slash.

    Summary

Within Gotham, the Bats are a tight-knit group - family - that runs like clockwork.

Outside of Gotham, none of their teammates know they’re related.

This series explores the shenanigans that the Bats get up to, as well as how this distinction would affect canon.

(This is an AU where the Bats are secretly affiliated, but nobody knows that.)

((Marked as complete, but new stuff may crash land when bored))

    Anthology containing:

    Batman (Supposedly) Works Alone

Batman works alone - that is what the superhero community genuinely believes.

In fact, he was so overprotective of Robin that only the thugs and Rogues of Gotham are even suspicious of his existence.

When Dick Grayson sheds Robin and becomes Nightwing, Bruce has one last request for his old partner. One final protocol: Code Bat.

Rated T for two swear words, because Jason.

    On the Clock

Dick was too pre-occupied with getting his friend medical attention to wonder why the Justice League did not seem to recognise them.

(Or; the obligatory time travel fic.)

    Protect Our Own

There’s a note addressed to Tim - addressed to R; to Robin.

(Jason is between a rock and a hard place, but he knows how to play his cards right. Talia’s not learning anything, not on his watch.)

    The Alley Bat

Jason ran away from Gotham and formed the Outlaws. He had fun, but it was not supposed to last. His teammates soon left for their families. He figured it was time he did the same.

    Or: Jason Todd goes home.

Rated T because of Jason swearing, and Fear Toxin hallucinations in part three

    Off-World Rescue

An alien king has essentially held Nightwing captive, on the grounds that he had no familial connections which tied him down to Earth.

Code Bat is activated, and Jason is about ready to throw secrecy out the window and punch the alien in its face.

    Gotham Needs a Batman

Bruce Wayne is dead - Batman is dead.

    Tim Drake believed otherwise.

In which Red Robin is born, a new Batman meets the Justice League, and Bruce returns home.

(In this AU, the superhero community doesn’t know that the Bats are all connected.)

    Leave A Message

When Tim left Gotham and became Red Robin, he had to leave anything that could compromise his identity.

He left Cassie a voicemail that she never replied to - not until their friends returned from the dead.

Or, Tim’s team reunites after cheesy voicemail confessions

    Play The Role

Luthor is scheming. Tim doesn't trust him.

He thinks that leading Nightwing and Red Robin to the same trap will make them suspicious of each other. He is incredibly wrong.

    Why Hello There!

Tim answers a call from the Teen Titans in the presence of one Jason Todd and one Stephanie Brown.

    He regrets his decision.

Or, slightly crack-ish fic of Steph and Jason messing with their boi Tim

    Don’t Underestimate Us

The Bats have each established themselves as solo vigilantes, with no affiliation to Batman. Outside of Gotham, they’re strangers.

When their teammates start to act strange, and Batman is uncontactable, Code Bat is activated.

    (Or: Bat-children, assemble!)

    Red Birds Stick Together

Sometimes, even without Code Bat activating, the Bats cross paths in-between all their team missions.

Really, it’s a wonder that nobody knows they’re connected.

Meanwhile, Red Robin will have to explain to Superboy why he’s so comfortable around his almost-killer.

    Snapshots of Gotham

Tim Drake had possibly the only photographic evidence of the Robins and Batgirls in existence, besides whatever footage Babs had saved to her database.

Tim agreed with Babs - it was about time he updated that collection.

    I’m Alive, Brother

Nightwing’s secret identity is revealed by the Crime Syndicate. Code Bat ensured that the rest of the Bats were safe.

That did nothing to comfort Batman when he saw his son strapped to a bomb.

(Canon happens, but Batman reacts differently. A fix-it.)

    Like a Painted Canvas

    Damian has been revived.

In the wake of his resurrection, he reflects on his past... and leaves Gotham. There are things to be done - mistakes that Damian needs to atone for.

(This fic takes inspiration from Robin: Son of Batman, Year of Blood, but does not follow through with proper canon.)

Rated T for descriptions of murdered skeletons, I guess

    What Comes After

With Damian’s return to Gotham comes returning to the legally alive.

He also gets a new brother, who doesn’t seem to realise that he has already been accepted into the family.

At the gala celebrating his return from the dead, Damian encounters a familiar face.

    The New Titans

Bruce knew it was only a matter of time before his youngest son joined an official superhero team of his own.

He was just glad to watch it unfold.

(Featuring the Bats messing around during a superhero party, and Superman trying his best to parent)

    Holidays Are For Family

Jason had been spending the past few years away from home during Thanksgiving, so that his teammates would not be alone.

Now that they each had found their own places at the table, Jason could return home. He ends up reassuring their newest addition to the family.

    How Are You?

Code Bat can have varying levels of urgency, depending on how it is activated.

An emergency activation tended to mean that dire help was needed, and that their normal superhero teammates were not rescue options.

Jason, thankfully, remembered to use Code Bat when those boxes were ticked.

(Featuring Tim answering a call for Jason as his bratty younger brother.)

    Seeking Warmth

Kon-El does not trust Canvas. Tim convinces him to give the kid a chance.

(Featuring a short banter between the bat-siblings, and Damian and Tim fluff)

    Welcome to The Team

Lian Harper was done with the assassin life.

She figured she might as well bring her new friend along for the ride.

(This is all just characterisation. Enjoy!)

    Invisible Helper

Duke was in the area, so naturally, Oracle called on his help on behalf of Black Lightning.

Jeff just wanted to do a recon.

    The Little Things

Oneshots of the bat-siblings, and the little-big things that they keep close to heart.

(Or, an excuse to write person-centric oneshots, one per batkid)

    Cherish The Present

It's Christmas. Everyone's home - nobody's severely injured, or missing, or dead. They were together, and that was what mattered.

    I'll Teach You

Cass has finally moved back into Gotham.

She brings pieces of the culture she had experienced back home - if there is something she can give her family, it's what she has learnt.

(Featuring some Chinese phrases and some Chinese things. Enjoy!)

    Out of the Shadows

The other superheroes were occupied with their own robot problems. Gotham was on its own.

It’s about time they show Gotham who’s been defending them.

    Collecting the Hints

Roy isn’t stupid. He’s been hanging around all of them for years - did they really expect him to be that oblivious?

(Or, Roy stringing the Bats together.)

    Stop to Look

The new year countdown was unfortunately not enough to deter the crime rates.

There was still time to take a break during patrol to watch the fireworks, though.

(Happy new year, here's to a better one!)

    Old Enemy, New Friends

They were just supposed to have a relaxing afternoon catching up with each other. They were not supposed to be kidnapped and taken to an unknown location.

    ...who is that?

(Damian meets again with someone he would rather forget.)

    It Takes Two

Damian can’t play Mario while he’s recovering. Tim can’t make his brother’s arm heal faster, but he can offer a hand.

    Some Things Don't Change

Dick gets called to the watchtower through a vague message from Superman. He... is not prepared to find his mentor as a child.

(Featuring Wally and Bart visiting the Batcave, and Tim and Bruce fluff)

    Seeing Connections

Lian is as sharp as her Dad, if not more so. Couple that with a few intentional slips, and Lian easily learnt the secret.

    Magic Troubles and Confessions

The Amazonian sisters run into a magic-user, and two Bats are along for the ride.

(Featuring Irey and Jai learning about the Bats!)

    Batgirls, New and Old

Stephanie decides to crash a Birds of Prey mission in her other costume. Dick says hi, too.

(Featuring Dick revealing his identity to the other Titans, and also his girlfriend)

    Now You See Me

Duke has been helping the Outsiders on and off, without showing his face. This time, there's no time for invisible help.

(Featuring the two Harpers and Dinah snickering behind Ollie's back)

    This Is Who We Are

The Bats have transitioned out of the shadows. They stick together. One unit; one family.

(Wardrobe changes, cuddles, Mario Odyssey, and more!)

    Red is for Love

Cass remembers the vibrancy of Lunar New Year in Hong Kong. She remembers streets lined with bright red lanterns, crowded streets and the bustling of thousands as they gathered for reunion meals with family.

The New Year was definitely different in Gotham, but her family made the best of it for her.

(Lunar New Year, or Chinese New Year, is celebrated based off the Chinese calendar, celebrating the start of the year and the coming of Spring.)

    Life with Bats

Does knowing that their teammates have siblings who are also superheroes change anything? Well, yes and no.

    Of Birds and Sirens

The first three Robins and the Gotham Sirens, and their interactions over the years.

(Each Siren watches as a Robin spreads their wings.)

    Colour the Edges

The new Teen Titans go to a hair salon.

    Damian blames his team.

    Mishaps and Meetings

Damian Wayne - Canvas - meets Young Justice (post-season 1).

There is, surprisingly, more conversation than conflict.

    Raise the Alarm

Nightwing comes to Titans tower. Within seconds, Tim knows something is wrong.

(There is an imposter among us.)

    A Little Bird Told Me

The Bats nudging everyone towards better relationships, one conversation at a time.

Clark has known the identity of the Batman for over a year, and has been dating the man behind the mask for a fourth of that time. Really though, when Clark began dating Bruce Wayne, he thought he'd signed up for tedious galas and simpering socialites. What he gets instead is a family, heartbreak, and enough love to fill his stupid big heart right up to the very brim.

    Summary

    Anthology containing:

Taking Flight: A Tragicomedy in Four Acts

John and Mary Grayson die; Dick becomes Robin. This is everything that happens in between, a/k/a, how Gotham City ripped one family and identity from Dick and gave him another.

An origin story in the Rebirth spirit, weaving together threads from Tec #40, Dark Victory, Robin: Year One, New 52, and more.

Dick just wanted to go back to the circus, to go back to his normal life, waving to crowds and flying through the air. But instead he was in a giant cave under a giant mansion in (outside of?) Gotham, swiftly becoming part of a billionaire's cobbled-together family and trying to solve a murder. And the worst part? He sort of liked it.

    This Isn't An Interview

Clark wants to know all about the new addition to the Wayne household. Bruce is not interested in being interviewed or in interrupting bedtime.

    Grounded

In the early days of the Justice League, Bruce is out more and more frequently on League missions, and Dick (age 13) is growing more and more restless and lonely stuck at home. His friends can't know he's Robin, and there are no superheroes Dick's age--or so he thinks, until Bruce receives a call from Barry, desperately seeking mentorship advice. Dick asks to meet the Flash's new sidekick, but Bruce refuses; a fight ensues, ending in Dick getting grounded. One week in Gotham off patrol, and then two weeks alone, far from Gotham... at a little family farm in Smallville, Kansas.

And hey, if a certain Midwestern speedster sidekick just so happens to turn up, that'd be just fine. Or would it?
