“You show great promise, Grandpadawan,” Master Dooku inclines his head briefly, ignoring Obi-Wan’s surprise that he is aware of his identity. “No matter what edicts Qui-Gon Jinn may have passed upon me in regards to his padawan, I could not pass and not give you the correction that you needed.”

Dooku takes an interest in Obi-Wan’s skills with a lightsaber shortly before he and Qui-Gon return to Naboo. Qui-Gon lives, but Dooku still leaves and now he has Obi-Wan in his sights.

    Summary

Alternative Universe where Vader found Luke in the aftermath of a conflict between the Hutts that left Tatooine devastated and his Aunt and Uncle dead. Raised in the Empire, his Force sensitivity is hidden along with his identity and his father keeps him close as his personal pilot. His only friend is the Emperor's hand but a lifetime of watching Palpatine subjugate those he loves makes Luke less than sympathetic to the Empire.

Meanwhile, believing he has failed another child he was responsible for, Obi-Wan Kenobi is brought to Alderaan to heal from his wounds and Bail Organa makes him on offer: teach his daughter Leia how to defend herself, use the Force and keep her powers hidden from the Emperor.

    By A Hopeless Heart

    “Find someone else son.”
“Who?” Luke looked up with a sad, half smile. “Is there really anyone in the Emperor’s Court you would consider capable of having that kind of connection with? There’s no one there I could trust with anything personal. The same goes for the Executor. Not that anyone would risk having anything to do with me anyway.”
Not with my proximity to you, was the underlying addendum to that.

In the dark heart of the Empire there is little room for love or trust or hope. Vader only cares about keeping his son alive and a broken heart and lonely soul may be the only way to ensure that.

    Between Wounded Beats

When the only family he ever knew was destroyed Obi-Wan threw himself into protecting a child, his last connection to those he loved. Then another, bloodier war came and Obi-Wan lost everything all over again. But there was another. Another child, another connection to his past, another path to redemption and another hope.

    The Heart Beats on Regardless

“Any of that blood yours?” Luke asked, hands on his hips.
    “Nope. Listen I don’t expect-“
“Follow me,” Luke jerked his head towards the private lift that led back to his and his father’s quarters.
    “The Emperor-“
“Vader won’t be back for hours I told you. You can shower and rest first.”
Luke turned and continued walking so Mara could hesitate without him watching her. He could feel the clash of her feelings pulling her in every direction in the Force.

When Mara needs help after a difficult mission there is only one person she can turn to. Unlike Mara or his father, Luke's loyalty has always been to those he cares for before the Emperor.

Bit My Pretty Red Heart In Two

It was Leia’s first time in a cell. She had long ago accepted that her luck would run out, her spying in the Imperial Senate would catch up with her, and eventually she would end up facing down the might of the Empire. Acceptance didn’t make it any less frightening. Tarkin was looking for an excuse to put her to death. It would be a fit punishment for her parents and a warning for any would-be rebels.
Even the daughter of a Core-world Queen was not above the Emperor’s law. No one was safe. Palpatine’s will was absolute and his vengeance was without mercy.

Leia Organa, Princess of Alderaan, Rebel, Spy, Jedi. Held on the Death Star, awaiting the father who doesn't know she exists, Leia has been anticipating this meeting for years.

    A Lost Heart Regained

He found the woman in the storage room, a blaster in her hand like her husband. A valiant but ultimately futile last stand. She was lying at an odd angle, curled around something.
Vader knelt down and the shape, small and marred with the same blood and gore as the woman, moved.
    Alive.
Vader froze as a small head lifted up from being buried in the woman- Beru! Owen had called her Beru- buried in Beru’s side.
Blue eyes blinked at Vader and the Force cheered.

Vader finds his son in the aftermath of a massacre.

    Hearts Bruised And Broken

On Tatooine he would often reach out into the Force, gently and quietly, just reassuring himself that Leia was out there, that she was fine. More often than not he would find his concentration pulled by the closer Force signature of Luke. At the time he had put it down to fear overriding his training, an inability to turn away from his duty even to check on the other must important child in the galaxy to him. Now though, looking at the twins he wondered if he had gotten it wrong, it wasn’t him or his abilities at all.
They were so strong, so bright and so unified.
But how could Anakin’s children be anything else?

General Kenobi's Padawan brings a long lost child to the rebellion and the three of them must navigate the impact of their reunion while war rages on.

My Heart Is A Haunted House

She knelt before the Emperor, the gleaming black floor so shiny below his throne that she could see herself as clearly as if she were looking in the mirror.
“Rise my Hand,” Palpatine said. “Come closer child so I might look at you.
Mara obeyed easily, her movements fluid as she climbed the dais and settled down on her knees before the Emperor, close enough for him to reach out and take her chin in his fingers.
His touch was icy cold and sent a shudder rippling below her skin.
“You’ve always been loyal Mara. Loyal and strong. The Empire is held together with loyalty. It keeps the whole machine functioning.”

The Emperor sends his most loyal servant to bring back a traitor who has defected to the rebel Alliance. The problem is Mara has known Luke for years, grown up with him and cares for him. Her loyalty has never been tested like this before and it is about to get a whole more difficult when she meets his new friends: a jedi, a rebel princess and a smuggler.

The Heart Is The Size Of A Fist

At first Vader occupied his mind by imagining every agony he would visit on them in revenge. He dreamt of limbs torn from sockets, skin flayed, bones cracked, blood streaming from every pore.
It brought no peace. The dreams were punctuated by flashes of nightmares: Luke running from stormtroopers, calling for help, Leia dragged before the Emperor, the daughter he’d never known burnt and torn by lightning.

The Emperor knows his apprentice has betrayed him and exacts his revenge accordingly.

Rescue comes from an unlikely source.

    Unfettered Hearts

    “He broke their bond.”
Luke was snapped back to the present.
    “What did you say?”
Obi-Wan bit back a laugh, looking at Luke and Leia with bright eyes.
“Vader broke his Force bond with Sidious.”

The Empire is imploding. Darth Vader has declared Palpatine and traitor and revealed him as the mastermind behind the Clone Wars, countless war crimes and a dangerous Sith Lord. He has the might of the Imperial Armed Forces behind him while Palpatine has his Grand Moffs and Governors along with a lifetime of Sith trickery and a seemingly unending determination to subdue and destroy.
