Of Many Secrets and Some Truths

This should be the greatest moment of Peter's life. Tony Stark had needed his help and he had gone toe-to-toe with Captain America himself. Yet, back at home, the guilt of lying to May about who he is begins to suffocate him. Some secrets are meant to be kept but others are to be shared.

Peter Parker vs. the Rules of the Universe

All told, it had been a pretty good day; Peter should have known it was too good to last. Nothing ever went that well without a catch to it. It was the first rule of the Universe: if anything was going well for too long, something was going to come crashing down on it. Just look at the dinosaurs – kings of the Earth one day; smoldering remains the next; all thanks to a freak meteorite. That’s how the first rule of the Universe worked.

Or: Peter had been having a pretty good day until some of his classmates decide to play an illicit game in Gym again.

    I Won't Say It

With Tony Stark stuck in a conference, Aunt May stuck at work and Ned out on a non-date with a boy he met in band, Peter is stuck bored and irritated in his room with no one to talk to about what is bothering him. Good thing Karen is always ready with an open ear. Too bad all her suggestions about what is really bothering him are completely and utterly ridiculous.

    ...I'm in Love

“No puppy dog eyes. You can either tell me, who you only see once a week and who can then teach you awesome stuff until you forget your problems, or you can tell your Aunt who you see every single day and who would probably make you talk about your feelings afterwards. Choose now. You have until the count of five.”
“Mr. Stark, really, you don’t want to hear abou-” Peter tried, raising his hands up in a placating gesture.
    “One.”
“Honestly, it’s not a big deal!” Peter gestured wildly, nearly knocking his hand into Mr. Stark.
    “Two.”
Or: Peter has been struggling all week with his feelings and refuses to talk to anyone about it. Tony Stark is having none of that.

(Go on and) Kiss the Boy

Ned was going to spend four nights with Peter in the apartment. Alone. With Peter. Sharing his bedroom.
    For four nights.
He was panicking. Just a little bit.
    Maybe a lot.
Okay, he was definitely panicking a lot.

Or: May is going away for a business trip and Peter takes the chance to try and take Mr. Stark's advice and tell Ned how he feels.

Haven't You Heard of Closing A Goddamn Door?

He had kept Spider-Man a secret from May for almost a year, he could definitely pretend to just be friends with Ned for a few weeks. He just wouldn’t be able to hold his hand, or kiss him, or smile at him.
Okay, so maybe it wouldn’t be easy.
Peter was still confident they could pull it off. He was Spider-Man and Ned was his Guy in the Chair. They could handle this.
    Probably.
    Most likely.
He was like 75% sure they could handle it.
Or: Peter and Ned try to navigate their first day as more than friends by keeping quiet about it but between overly observant friends and forgetting to close doors, their attempts do not go as planned.

Why Don't you Put that F*cking Phone Down?

Peter, for once in his life, was not excited about something Avengers related. If May or Mr. Stark knew, they would have marched him straight into a doctor’s office. But it was true. Peter was not excited for something Avengers related and it was all Ned’s fault.
    Not really Ned’s fault.
    Kind of Ned’s fault.
It wasn’t really, but Peter was going to blame him anyway.
Or: Peter would rather spend his weekend snuggled up with Ned but duty calls in the form of a surprise weekend trip to the Avenger's Compound. Thank god for cellphones and unlimited texting.

Peter Parker and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad School Trip

Peter was just hoping Mr. Harrington would put Ned into the room with the other two boys and leave Peter to Flash.
He was a little worried that Ned or Flash wouldn’t make it out from the room intact if they were forced to share.
He was honestly a little more worried that Flash wouldn’t come out.
He was actually a lot worried for Flash. Ned was secretly terrifying.
Peter would think about why that made him feel uncomfortably warm later.

Or: The Academic Decathlon meet was supposed to be a fun trip out of town but Flash always manages to be around to ruin everything.

Near Death Experiences and Petnames are the Best Way to Start the Day

    Peter was panicking.
Not a lot, of course, because he was a full-fledged superhero and superheroes only panicked a little. Then again, Peter wasn’t currently in the super suit and his heart was beating much faster than normal.
Okay, so maybe it was more than a little panic.
Maybe Peter was nearing full on freak out and trying really hard to keep it hidden.
But no one could really blame him for panicking. It wasn’t everyday that he was stared down by Natasha Romanov wielding a wickedly sharp knife in her hand while he stood in front of an open fridge, wearing Hello Kitty pajama pants and one of Ned’s worn Star Wars sweaters. He blamed Mr. Stark for this one.
Or: Peter had been having a good week until the Universe - in the form of a forced visit to the compound and a red-haired ex-Assassin - decided to bring it crashing down.
