Legacy

Summary:

Nedzu tilted his head. “According to our records, despite someone attempting to do everything they could to detach you from this fact, you are, in fact, the child of a legal Hero.”

Aizawa sucked in a hissed breath as Yagi’s attention snapped to Midoriya…Midoriya who seemed to have forgotten how to breathe.

Yagi’s voice wavered. “Young Midoriya…”

“Do you understand what this means, Midoriya?” Nedzu asked calmly, folding his paws in front of him.

Midoriya did not answer.

Aizawa decided to speak for him. “You are a Legacy.”

  1. Summary

    There was another student here.

Tom recognized him vaguely—while transfer students were not necessarily uncommon due to the war, they were rare enough to at least make an impression. This particular transfer student was in his year, sorted into Ravenclaw after an impressively long hat stall. He looked like he might be descended from the Potter line, but he did not share the surname so his lineage was of no particular interest to Tom. Nothing about him was of particular interest to Tom, in fact, and yet here he stood, holding the book that Tom had come here to find.

It would be a good time to turn away. The Restricted Section was restricted for a reason—only books documenting extremely dangerous or extremely advanced magic were stored here.

Tom’s feet, however, suddenly felt as if they were made of lead. It wasn’t magic keeping him tied down, but something far more mysterious like curiosity or even fate. In any case, the delay was all it took for the Ravenclaw to lift his chin and meet Tom’s eyes.

This Ravenclaw, Tom realized, had eyes as blindingly green as the Killing Curse.

  2. Summary

“And for the record, Deku isn’t here at the moment,” Midoriya said in amusement over the screen, his eyes glinting with mischief. “So please…”

The guns began to whir to life.

Shouto found himself shouting, “Everyone move!”

    “Call me Sensei.”

And then the gun fire rang out, and the Event truly began.

The annual Villain Day happened once a year. Once a year, all of UA’s Hero Course would take on a persona and take part in an all out brawl live streamed to all of Japan, fighting to be the last one standing.

Post Kamino, Midoriya wanted to spark change in Hero Society.

All Midoriya needed was a platform for this change.

He might be going a tad overboard, but his father always told him to never hold back.

  3. Summary

About a week after that, All Might asked Izuku if he was aiming for the hero course at UA. The question was so sudden that Izuku nearly dropped a microwave on his toes.

The truth was, if All Might had asked him that a week ago, there would have only been one possible answer to that question. All Might had gone to UA, UA was the best, so Izuku was going to go there too, if he could. But things were a little different, now that he was going to receive All Might’s Quirk.

    “No,” he said, decisively.

All Might looked caught off guard, which was a very rare expression on him. “No?” he echoed, like he couldn’t believe it.

A laugh bubbled out of Izuku’s throat. He honestly couldn’t believe it either. “No,” he repeated.

    ___

Or, All Might tells Izuku about All for One before he gives him One for All, and everything changes.

we are here (to help those that won't help themselves)

“I bullied another kid so much he jumped off the roof of our middle school,” Bakugou said, so suddenly that Shouto actually paused to look at him.

Shouto considered. There wasn’t really a good way to respond to a statement like that. That’s pretty horrible of you. Maybe you shouldn’t have done that. Why the hell would you care enough about another person to actually actively bully them? He decided on, “That’s pretty fucked up.”

“I know,” Bakugou said, voice uncharacteristically quiet. “I bullied him enough that he attempted suicide, I had to sit through a well-justified live recruitment ad for villainy, and then I caused the Symbol of Peace to die. I don’t know—” He took a sharp breath. “Nevermind.”

Shouto hummed. “You were going to say you don’t know why you’re even trying to be a hero, weren’t you?”

There was a long moment of silence, followed by a simple, “Yeah.”

“I think the same thing about myself a lot, too, you know,” Shouto said, leaning back against his desk and studying his classmate sprawled on the floor.
