  1. Summary

    - but the sleeve of his tracksuit was bulging, tearing and ripping and a mass of twisted flesh, nearly as big as the boy himself and nauseatingly familiar (the arm of the man that had torn a hole in his side with a grin and left him a frail shadow of himself) swung forward and slammed into the flat face of the giant robot.

Izuku wants to be a hero more than anything.

Nedzu tilted his head. “According to our records, despite someone attempting to do everything they could to detach you from this fact, you are, in fact, the child of a legal Hero.”

Aizawa sucked in a hissed breath as Yagi’s attention snapped to Midoriya…Midoriya who seemed to have forgotten how to breathe.

    Yagi’s voice wavered. “Young Midoriya…”

“Do you understand what this means, Midoriya?” Nedzu asked calmly, folding his paws in front of him.

    Midoriya did not answer.

Aizawa decided to speak for him. “You are a Legacy.”

    Summary

    Magic.

It's like entropy--inaccessable energy in a system. To have magic is to break the rules of your universe, and to become a magical girl is to take that power and use it for good.

April 10th, Izuku broke the rules of his universe, and now, with the world facing a growing, seemingly indomitable threat, he and his Handyman get ready for the ride of a lifetime.

This story thus details Midoriya Izuku's life as a magical girl in the world of heroes.

This is a "Crack Treated Seriously" story, in which a completely implausible and ridiculous scenario is treated almost as seriously as any other fictional work, save for some cases of humor.

Izuku has seen himself live as a hero, villain, vigilante, civilian, adventurer. He's seen worlds rise and fall through snapshots, analyzing each glance in neat notebooks. Now his story has started, and only one thing is certain: He hasn't saved them yet.

Aka the fic that takes the dimension travel troupe, throws it out the window, and replaces it with bad puns and plot.

I'm re-writing the summary bc Izuku's still an anxious green bean but the story's evolved. Spoilers for specific arcs posted in the beginning notes of each chapter. (first posted fanfic, lmk what you think!)

It hasn’t even been one day since getting to the station and Izuku has somehow managed to find himself careening into the endless abyss that is space in a small pod he doesn’t know how to fly. Oh, look, aliens, maybe they’ll… or maybe they’ll just lock him space prison… At least he’s not alone, not that he knows any Common yet. Why does everyone seem so tense?

Follow Izuku as he tries to navigate through space and the many aliens and obstacles that inhabit it! We have familiar faces such as obligatory cat-alien Dadzawa and his bird-alien mate DadMic! Re-explore themes such as language barriers and Humans being BAMF from Space Australia! This work is inspired heavily by other MHA stories in the "Humans are Space Orcs" tab, but I hope to bring some originality to the community as soon as Izuku can make his way off the alien pirate ship!

  11. Summary

Desperate yowling cut through the night, accompanied by infrequent clanging. Shouta paused on the rooftop he had been running across and tried to determine the direction of the sound. Most likely a stray cat or some other animal. Shouta liked cats, and to a lesser extent all animals, so he wasn’t about to just leave it struggling. The poor thing could be hurt.

Soon enough, he tracked the commotion to a street that was starkly unpopulated at this time of night. The noise originated from some vending machines next to a bus stop, lit up by the soft glow of a streetlight. Shouta raised an eyebrow at the small rear end sticking out of the little door that the snacks dropped down into. Was that… a toddler? Out here? At this hour?

"I'll just have to be the first." by AmyAirheart & Library_of_Gage

“Do you want to be a hero?”
Izuku blinks. Where did that question come from? It was so out of the blue that Izuku just feels confused now. “I can't,” he finally manages to say.
    “Why not?”
Is Eraserhead stupid? Well, Izuku won’t actually ask him, but he’s tempted. It’s perfectly obvious why he can’t be a hero. “I’m deaf,” he points out.
    “So is Present Mic.”
    “I’m quirkless.”
    “And?”
“What do you mean and? And nothing. Quirkless heroes don’t exist. Especially not deaf quirkless heroes,” Izuku says. He’s not sure why Aizawa isn’t understanding this.
Aizawa just sighs, shaking his head. Izuku thinks there must be some big thing he’s just not seeing for the underground hero to be reacting like this. “So be the first, problem child,” Aizawa finally says.

(AKA: Bakugou's bullying goes a bit too far when Izuku is ten, so they move. He meets Hatsume, gets trained by Aizawa and Present Mic, and sets off to become the first ever quirkless hero)

"Life's too short for indecision, Shouto." by AmyAirheart & Library_of_Gage

“I don’t see what you’re waiting for, then,” Rei tells him, smiling reassuringly. “You should ask him out.”
Shouto sighs and pulls his hand away, running it through his hair. “What if he says no? Or he doesn’t feel the same? What if I do actually mess up our friendship?” he asks.
Rei studies him for a long moment and shakes her head. “Life’s too short for indecision, Shouto. One day you might be faced with the possibility of never knowing what could have been, and that will eat at you for as long as you live. If you like Izuku, don’t let your chance slip away. You’ll always wonder how things could have gone if you do,” she explains.

  15. Summary

"I’m only two minutes late!” Izuku protested. Had he missed the start of an important test? None of the national, standardized tests were supposed to happen this month and even being two minutes late to one of those wouldn’t elicit this sort of reaction. They were discussing their career interest forms today, but that was it. Nothing time-critical was supposed to be happening.

“Midoriya, you were reported missing a week ago. No one has seen you for eight days. The police have been combing the city for you.”

    "I’m sorry. What?”

Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.

    Fire in the Mountains

    “I’ll do it.”

Enji froze, fingers curling into a fist at his side, and didn’t turn around.

Shouto froze too, feeling his own eyes widen in shock at the words that had come out of his mouth, at the fact that he had actually stood up, followed his father out of the room, and dashed after him all just to say… he’d do it? He would do it? Him. Shouto Todoroki. He would--

Enji finally turned around and fixed Shouto with an expression so scathing, Shouto had to fight to keep his chin raised. “You’ll marry the Barbarian King.”

    Shouto blinked. “Yes.”

The Ballad of Love and Hate

After eight painfully long years, Katsuki finally has Izuku back. He's determined to keep him this time, and to do that, he knows there are some things he has to say.

    Fire in the Blood

For the first time in his life, Shouto Todoroki thinks he might be happy. Freed from his father's rule by the hand of his husband and now king, Shouto finds himself swept up in his lovers' embrace, the impending threat of a powerful necromancer and his undead pet with a grudge little more than a distant anxiety easily ignored for the miracle that is being loved by Katsuki and Izuku, and watching them love each other. But, as he feared, such happiness can't last.

The Todoroki kingdom has fallen, sending its monarchs retreating to the mountains for shelter and aid. With the Todorokis unseated, Katsuki finds the threat of war on his eastern border more dangerous than ever before. A mad man has taken the Todoroki kingdom and he won't rest until the whole world lies broken at his feet. Tomura Shigaraki must be stopped, but the new alliance forged between the barbarian conqueror and the disgraced flatland king is tenuous at best. As tensions mount, Shouto finds himself trapped between two levees-- on one side, his kingdom, his blood, and his legacy, on the other, his lovers, his home, and the family that made him theirs. And he has no idea where he will be standing when the floodwaters break.

    Where There's Smoke

Before Katsuki was king, he set out on a quest. Izuku made a promise to follow him, no matter what.

    Summary

    Anthology containing:

    The Giver and The Given

“I’m the son of your enemy.”
“We don’t have any enemies,” Midoriya said, his sad green eyes on Shouto’s mismatched ones. “And even if we did, we wouldn’t treat them like this.” He stood, holding out a hand toward Shouto. “Come. Let’s rid your body of the signs of its journey.”
As Shouto looked up into Midoriya’s face, Bakugou could see the wonder and pain in his eyes, as if he were glancing up into the sun, both blinded by and in awe of its brightness. He smiled a little to himself; it was an appropriate response to the wonder that was King Midoriya.

In which Todoroki Enji does the only good thing he's ever done for his son, and sends him to the Bakugou-Midoriya kingdom as a prisoner.

    Don't Leave Me

The man -- or was he a boy? It was hard to tell only by his face -- was very slim, malnourished even, and his thin lips were cracked and dry. His breaths were short and shallow, much too rapid for someone sleeping. Occasionally, small twitches moved his body, the blankets shifting in response. As he approached the bed, Shinsou found himself staring intently at the stranger, as if he could discern his life story if he studied him long enough.
Suddenly, with irrational speed, the man’s hand shot out from beneath the blanket, grabbing Shinsou’s wrist and holding it with surprising strength. Simultaneously, the man’s eyes opened. They peered at Shinsou with an inhuman intensity, the color brighter and more intense than his hair. Shinsou froze -- he didn’t feel like he was in danger, so he didn’t pull away as the eyes so yellow they were almost white bore into his.
“Shinsou Hitoshi.” The voice spoke in two tones simultaneously, one high-pitched and feminine, the other deep and masculine. Somehow, it seemed too massive for the mouth it came from. “You are the reason we are here. You must help us.”

In which Shinsou, Denki, and Eijirou must wrestle with their pasts in order to save the present and find a future.

    Children of Fate

Thirty years ago, a captured Himura Rei meets the barbaric Todoroki king.
Six years ago, a bartered Todoroki Fuyumi meets the charismatic Prince Iida Tensei.
In the present, Iida Tenya must comes to terms with his family's loss and his kingdom's bloody legacy.

Three tales intertwine over the course of decades, as those with power struggle to keep it and those without power struggle to gain it. The decisions made in the privacy of bedrooms and the cloisters of temples set the stage for the future of the Five Kingdoms as a whole.

In which the history of the Five Kingdoms is explored, and the significance of the Todoroki family is revealed.

The Giver and The Given: Homecoming

They met in the middle of the throne room, in the center of the largest pillar of light. Now that they were closer, Midoriya could see each color of his regent’s eyes, the mesmerizing sapphire and smoke he’d found himself picturing before sleep came each night. Shouto’s bag fell to the floor, his arms outstretched. Smiling, they both took a step forward–
And the usher stepped between them. Clearing his throat, he cocked an eyebrow. “I do have a job to do, King Midoriya,” he said in a teasing voice. “I realize it’s unimportant in the grand scheme of royal duties, but performing it helps me feel as if I’ve accomplished something today.”
Midoriya chuckled, relishing how Shouto’s eyes moved over his face as if he tried to memorize his lover’s expression. “By all means, please proceed.”
The usher grinned a sly, sideways smile, then lowered himself in a dramatic bow. “Sir Todoroki Shouto of the Bakugou-Midoriya kingdom, returned from his months of military service.” Raising up out of the bow, he put a hand on his heart and shuffled out of the way. “Now you may reunite tearfully.”

    In which Shouto comes home.
