All that's left to do is learn how exactly hockey works...and try not to think too much about the prodigious freshman right wing, who's just about the most wonderful person Izuku's ever met.
Shouto Todoroki has eaten, slept, and breathed hockey his whole life. He's got a legacy to live up to with his pro-hockey old man, and he's no stranger to the scrutiny and expectations of his coaches and teammates. It's different now that he plays for UA, though. He's got a former pro coach who sees potential in him and teammates who might actually like him as a person. The Road to Varsity
UA's hockey team is legendary, so much so that their all-freshman JV team basically plays a tryout season. Players either move on to Varsity or see the end of their college hockey careers. Everyone keeps telling Shouto Todoroki that he's a shoo-in for Varsity, but nothing is guaranteed in hockey. He'll have to work harder than ever to take his spot. At least when the pressure looms over him, he knows he can lean on the person he loves for support.
Turning in competitions for cheering on the sidelines at hockey games was an easier transition than Izuku Midoriya expected. He fell in love with the game and the JV team's star player. Sometimes he misses stunting and tumbling. It's hard not to think about what life at UA would have been like if he'd been able to compete on the varsity cheer squad. Then again, things have a way of working themselves out.

Don't Leave Me
The man -- or was he a boy? It was hard to tell only by his face -- was very slim, malnourished even, and his thin lips were cracked and dry. His breaths were short and shallow, much too rapid for someone sleeping. Occasionally, small twitches moved his body, the blankets shifting in response. As he approached the bed, Shinsou found himself staring intently at the stranger, as if he could discern his life story if he studied him long enough.
Suddenly, with irrational speed, the man’s hand shot out from beneath the blanket, grabbing Shinsou’s wrist and holding it with surprising strength. Simultaneously, the man’s eyes opened. They peered at Shinsou with an inhuman intensity, the color brighter and more intense than his hair. Shinsou froze -- he didn’t feel like he was in danger, so he didn’t pull away as the eyes so yellow they were almost white bore into his.
“Shinsou Hitoshi.” The voice spoke in two tones simultaneously, one high-pitched and feminine, the other deep and masculine. Somehow, it seemed too massive for the mouth it came from. “You are the reason we are here. And the usher stepped between them. Clearing his throat, he cocked an eyebrow. “I do have a job to do, King Midoriya,” he said in a teasing voice. “I realize it’s unimportant in the grand scheme of royal duties, but performing it helps me feel as if I’ve accomplished something today.”
Midoriya chuckled, relishing how Shouto’s eyes moved over his face as if he tried to memorize his lover’s expression. “By all means, please proceed.”
The usher grinned a sly, sideways smile, then lowered himself in a dramatic bow. “Sir Todoroki Shouto of the Bakugou-Midoriya kingdom, returned from his months of military service.” Raising up out of the bow, he put a hand on his heart and shuffled out of the way. “Now you may reunite tearfully.”In which Shouto comes home.
