The Bats were dead and Dick was the only one left alive. He had nothing left for him so why shouldn’t he join them?
Waking up back in time was not the plan but Dick wasn’t complaining. He finally has his family back and he will not lose them again.
Robin has always been able to do what Batman couldn’t. It was okay that Bruce won’t kill. Dick wouldn’t ask him to compromise his morals.
But he had no such restrictions. He doesn’t mind killing, getting his hands dirty, and being a monster if it means his family is alive.

Dick Grayson has been through a lot in his 19 year old life and at this point he's more alone then he's ever been before. So when he finds himself bleeding out, alone, on a Bludhaven rooftop he can't help but think, 'At least it will stop hurting.'
...Until he wakes up, still alone but now in world that doesn't need him. At least that's what he thinks. That is until he stumbles upon a chance he never had in his first life. Now he's thrown back into a world of bats and birds and struggling to find his place in this world amongst the trauma of his past life and the major differences in this one.
Maybe with the help of a few friends he can find his footing again.

Shazam didn’t understand how taxes worked. He always seemed kind of lost when they talked politics. Wally often had the sense that he was nodding along with things he didn’t really understand. He knew what vaping was. Inexplicably he knew what TikTok was. Weird guy.
The Justice League try to adjust to their newest member. They know he's hiding something from them, but in their line of work everyone has secrets. Shazam's no different. Is he?
Or, the Justice League accidentally inducts a child and then deals with the fall-out.
the hand we've been dealt
He’d always tried to keep – his boys, as she’d put it – out of the firing line, as much as he could. With Shazam, that wasn’t an option. You put him directly in the line of fire or you didn’t use him.
More than once he'd seen Shazam take hits for his teammates that would have killed anyone mortal. It didn’t do him any harm – any physical harm – but he was fourteen. He shouldn’t have to use his own body to protect people.
But this was the hand they had been dealt. All they could do was make the best of it.
Batman reflects on Shazam.

Shazam was – an enigma. His power set was – perplexing. He only sporadically came to League meetings. On the few occasions they’d spoken John had found him at turns aloof and giddily talkative. Is that the ring? he’d said the first time they’d met. Can I see it? Oh man that is cool!
Newly inducted Justice League member Green Lantern goes on his first undercover mission with Shazam and learns some uncomfortable truths.
The Specific Ocean
“Billy?” said Freddy. “What’s going on? Is everything okay?”
“Oh, yeah,” said Billy. “Everything’s fine. Everything’s great,” he added, muffled, his mouth full. “I’m drunk.”
For half a second Freddy’s brain bluescreened. “You’re,” he said, “drunk?”
In which the Justice League have a small mishap, Billy drinks a lot of juice and plays favourites, Wonder Woman pays a visit to the Vasquez household and Freddy has a really weird night. Or, Billy gets drugged on a mission and chaos ensues.
The Line
“Shazam,” he said. “What’s up?”
But it wasn’t Shazam who answered.
“Vic,” said Billy. “Are you busy?” His voice was rough – shaky. He sounded like he was trying really hard to keep calm. He sounded like he was freaking out. He said, “I need help.”
It was strange, the phantom sensations he’d retained after the accident – the things he felt, even with almost everything human in his body gone. He didn’t have a stomach any more, and yet he felt the bottom drop out of it.
A Colourful Blur
“Why is the kid driving the car?”
“Uh, couple of reasons,” says Wally. “One, I needed to give you first aid. And two, I don’t have a European driver’s license.”
John's head is aching. Trying really hard to stay calm he hisses, “Neither does he!”
“Yeah, but I don’t have any driver’s licenses,” says Billy over his shoulder. “So I got nothing to lose here.”
Wally snaps his fingers at him. “Eyes on the road, kiddo.”
In which a Justice League mission goes off the rails, John has a concussion and is very tired, Wally makes some questionable decisions, and Billy has everything under control.
up to no good
“So, Victor and Rosa still aren’t really cool about this whole thing and I figured maybe if they met one of you guys then they’d see that you’re just regular normal people and they might, I don’t know. Freak out less?”
“Ohh,” said Wally as it sank in. “Okay. I get you.” He leaned back in his seat, contemplating the dingy wall of the tunnel outside. “I can be normal,” he said. “I can be so normal. Normalest guy you ever saw.”
“You’re not filling me with confidence here, Wally,” said Billy, sounding genuinely kind of desperate.
Billy invites Wally to dinner. Wally gets bullied by a pack of kids. Rosa gets some stuff off her chest.
