Summary
This series is meant to encompass all my stories in my "headcanon" worldstate, which is in fact a canon-divergent AU.
1: Sanctification, DA:O and DA:O-A, F!Cousland/Leliana. Faith, doubt, politics, wolves!
2: Spells of Healing, pre-DA2 through pre-Act II. Anders/F!Hawke (mage, red/aggro). Oops baby AU and plans for change.
3: Spells of Power, Act II-III. Anders/F!Hawke. She becomes Viscountess of Kirkwall in AU fashion and tries to reform the Circle.
4: Spells of Battle, the Mage-Templar War, end of DA2 through the Haven Conclave. Anders/F!Hawke.
5: Rising Powers, DA:I, Dorian/M!Trevelyan. The Inquisition is not as strong as it is in canon... and Ferelden and the Free Marches are a lot stronger.
6: Wills of Adamant, DA:I and post-DA:I, Anders/F!Hawke. What happened with "Here Lies the Abyss" and afterward.
7: Joie de Vivre, post-DA:I. The epilogue for Cousland/Leliana.Anthology containing:
Sanctification
Elissa Cousland never expected to be a Grey Warden, but she doesn’t mind it. She can fight evil, develop her gift from her mother’s bloodline to call upon wolves, and pursue real love rather than fulfilling some grim noble duty. She has never been attracted to men, so that freedom matters to her. She just wishes her conscription had not corresponded with the loss of her whole family, or so she fears, as well as her lover.
When she meets the bard-turned-sister, Leliana, she is sure that this will be special. Leliana has a sad past too, a betrayal by her former mentor Marjolaine and an acute regret from Lothering, but together they might be able to help each other heal. But the moral challenges during the Blight, the brutal game of Fereldan politics, and their own dark pasts won’t make it easy for either woman.
(A story that occurs in the same world as my “Spells” series. Can be read as a standalone; no prior reading of other stories needed.)
Spells of Healing
In Dragon 9:27, Anders escaped the Circle of Magi. It was not the first time or the last, but it was very significant. Caitlyn Hawke, apostate mage, fell in love with him, and her father died trying to help him. He was recaptured, but not before leaving her with a permanent “memento” of their relationship.
Four years later, they met again on the other side of the Waking Sea. He was Tainted, possessed, and exiled; she was impoverished, mourning her sister, and thoroughly embittered. Both of them had loved someone else—and lost them, since they could not stop thinking about each other. It seemed hopeless....
(Edited & illustrated! The story continues in Spells of Power and Spells of Battle.)
Spells of Power
Caitlyn Hawke and Anders have big plans. With noble support and a useful, if corrupt, ally in Mother Petrice, Hawke intends to use the Qunari crisis to get Grand Cleric Elthina replaced with her own ally. She also has a certain big ambition of her own and a list of goals: limit Meredith Stannard’s influence, reform Kirkwall’s Circle, spark reform everywhere, and get the backing of Divine Justinia to safeguard her position as a mage ruler and protect her and Anders’ mage son from being taken away. But Meredith also has allies and is not ceding power without a fight—a very dirty and bloody one if necessary, one that challenges Caitlyn not to become a tyrant too.
Meanwhile, Anders doesn’t think Caitlyn goes far enough with her reforms, and he—or perhaps Justice—also thinks she risks failure by playing by traditional political rules against a foe who thinks she is above rules. Meredith had a previous Viscount killed, after all....
(Canon-divergent. Reading Part 1, Spells of Healing, is recommended but not strictly necessary. Edited & illustrated!)
Spells of Battle
It is Dragon 9:37, and war has begun. For two years the mage Viscountess of Kirkwall, Caitlyn Hawke, fought violence and obstruction as she expanded mage rights. But at last she and her husband Anders assassinated Meredith Stannard and declared the Kirkwall Circle independent, inspiring more Circle rebellions. Now the chantries of the northern Free Marches have declared a schism due to Divine Justinia’s support of Hawke, with former Grand Cleric Elthina as its “Divine.” Justinia cannot help, as the Templars and Seekers who aren’t joining the schism only care about keeping the other Circles in line. Caitlyn, Anders, the rebels, and their allies must fight the war alone.
Challenges arise at home too. With an ambitious anti-war Coterie boss undermining Caitlyn from one side, mage supremacists from the other, and Grand Cleric Petrice urging Caitlyn to deal with foes ruthlessly, she is tempted more than ever to be a despot. Anders wants to help her keep to the light... but by 9:39, he has his own struggle, a dark voice that will not let him or Justice alone.
(Canon-divergent Mage-Templar War that’s still mostly compatible with Asunder. Reading Parts 1 and 2 of the Spells series is advised.)
Rising Powers
Max Trevelyan has been a powerless Circle mage most of his life. He didn't even get to fight in the Mage-Templar War when he wanted to. Now suddenly he is the Herald of Andraste and then the Inquisitor. With an ancient menace at large, Orlais in disarray, and the Chantry leaderless and still sundered from a terrible war and second schism, someone needs to pick up the pieces. And with a lover by his side who knows politics, the son of a magister, Max thinks he may have a real chance to make Thedas closer to his ideals.
Many of his companions want to rebuild the old world instead, but they may find that a challenge. Viscountess Hawke of Kirkwall and her mage army are issuing ultimatums about mage rights, and all Thedas knows they have the magic and weapons to back them up. Ferelden is also ascendant and making demands. And then Max starts to see the Inquisition, which should have been a force for good, doing worse and worse things simply for power. Dorian empathizes, feeling similarly about Tevinter, so perhaps they can stop the worst excesses of the organization Max “leads”... can’t they?
This is not a playthrough novelization.
Wills of Adamant
For many years, Caitlyn Hawke has had dark dreams of a hole in the sky, a trail of bloody footprints behind her, a crown on her forehead dripping with red, and her beloved Anders falling in hopeless combat against a monstrous demon. When at last she understands what these dreams mean, and he insists that he must go to Skyhold to advocate for the free mages, will her warnings make a difference?
(Canon-divergent. Contains major spoilers for my also-canon-divergent novels Spells of Battle and Rising Powers.)
Joie de Vivre
After the dust has settled from the War Against the Elder One, the Hero of Ferelden and her partner reflect on what they have been through, lost, gained, and what they hope the future holds for their family.

Summary
"On this, the Seventy-fifth anniversary of the end of the Great Rebellion and the beginning of the Hunger Games we remember the lives lost all across Panem in senseless violence." President Silver says as he pulls a sealed envelope from his pocket and breaks the seal with a flick of his thumb. "It is in recognition of this loss every 25 years that we hold a Quarter Quell." His hands shake for a moment as he pulls the card from the envelope and holds it up to his eyes.
Stiles looks over as a weight lands on his shoulder. His father is squeezing tightly at Stiles, enraptured in what is happening on the screen before him.
"As a reminder to the rebels that relation to those who show loyalty to the Capitol is no guarantee of safety, the male and female tributes reaped will be the heirs of those victors who have already proven their loyalty to Capitol through their actions in the Hunger Games."
