“Are you stuck? When are you coming back?” Siri asks.
“I um. I’m not,” Obi-Wan says. “I quit the Order.”
“Quit as in—“
“As in told Master Yoda I won’t accept the rank of knight and I won’t take my vows and that I’m going somewhere else,” Obi-Wan says, all in a rush. Siri looks undeterred.
“Where in the Seven Corellian Hells do you plan on going?” she asks, hands on her hips.
He hesitates, just a moment. But if this is the plan, then it won’t hurt for Siri and Quinlan to know. They’ll find out soon enough anyway, and he’d rather them hear it from him.
“Mandalore,” Obi-Wan says, not without cringing. He’s met with a few brief seconds of stunned silence.
“Yeah, we’re never getting him back,” Quinlan says, somewhere out of view.

What a Year Today Has Been
“Thank you for agreeing to see me, Your Grace,” Mace says, with the customary bow. “I am Jedi Master Mace Windu here on behalf of the Jedi Council. We wish to speak to Obi-Wan Kenobi and know that he has sought refuge here.”
The duchess looks down on him, unimpressed. Her eyes are a sharp, icy blue, her hair so pale it nearly blends with her skin. She’s tall but thin in the way of people who have been half-starved half their lives, though that doesn’t make her any less intimidating. Or it wouldn’t, if Mace was the type of person to feel intimidated by anyone.
“I’m afraid my husband is quite indisposed,” she says, coolly.
The pounding in Mace’s temple increases with a vengeance.

Shmi wasn’t terribly surprised when the Jedi came calling, nor when they proclaimed that Anakin was one of their own. It was why she didn’t protest much when they promised to whisk him away to their fancy temple on the Core.
She wasn’t terribly bitter that they’d left her behind. Master Jinn had been kind enough, and he’d tried more than anyone else ever had. Another low bar, Shmi knew, but Anakin was what was important. He was special. He had never been hers to begin with. Letting him go was never a choice— never hers, anyhow.
Maybe that was why, when the young man proclaiming to be an ex-Jedi had shown up at her door not a month later, she had let him in. Maybe it was why, when she had finished listening to his story, to his request, she had refused.
For the first time in her life, Shmi had a real choice. Maybe she had made the wrong one. In her own defense, she didn’t exactly have a lot of practice with it.

Something cracks, and his brain is suddenly blissfully clear. Clear for the first time in what feels like an eternity. The darkness that’s been drowning him, gone.

Sidious did something to Anakin that day in the office. One moment, he was pulling his lightsaber on the Sith Lord, the next he was trapped in his own mind, watching as he marched on the temple. He manages to escape, a platoon of troopers in tow, fully intending on disappearing forever, like everyone thought Anakin had. But a chance meeting on Bracca encourages his team to throw themselves back into the action.

This series explores two intertwined narratives: the adventures of time-traveling Obi-Wan and the reactions from the core, particularly the Jedi. The series questions the importance of time in training versus the impact of experiences on a Jedi's potency. Drawing on examples from Legends, canon, and games, I posit that the skills of a Jedi could be taught to adults/teenagers in a relatively short time. It’s the mastery of self that would take the most time, and ultimately why the late-modern Republic’s Jedi training started with children.

Following the discovery of the droid army and subsequent battle on Geonosis, Anakin Skywalker is left in a very horrible mental state due to the death of his mother, though his massacre of the Tusken Raiders isn't helping.
And so, after concluding that while his own emotions were justified, but his actions rather monstrous, the Chosen One makes a choice.
He reaches out for help.
To Honor Code & Principle
The council holds its first meeting with the Senate and the Chancellor after the Battle of Geonosis to discuss what to do about the Separatists and the Clone army.
While Shaak Ti is preoccupied with talking to Anakin, Plo sits through what may be either a productive or unproductive meeting.
And soon gets brought into the loop.
To Converge
The clone troopers arrive to Coruscant, led by Cody and Alpha-17, as they arrive to officially join the Republic as its army.
But then they meet the Jedi, and, well, all bets are off.

While the Jedi council handles the clone troopers and gets them situated, Anakin stays in his room, and decided to reach out to another of the few individuals he is close to.

Summary
Mace Windu was many things, but a morning person was not one of them. Nevertheless, the Force had deemed the ass-end of dawn to be an appropriate time to drag him out of bed and into the gardens. Not that he didn’t enjoy the scenery, but after returning from a grueling diplomatic endeavour-turned hostage negotiation not even three hours ago, he’d rather enjoy the pitch-black setting of his room.
Still, he was a Jedi and, as such, Mace’s duty would always be to follow the will of the Force. Today, it decided to lead him towards the forested areas where two younglings were huddled together at the base of a large tree, sleeping.
Mace tended not to spend a lot of time in the creche, but he recognized the Kiffar child as his friend Tholme's unconventional Padawan. Quinlan Vos, he believed his name was. The other boy was a scrawny redhead with deeper bags under his eyes than most grown adults and the Force drew his attention to this boy in particular.
