  2. Summary

"As prince, you can choose a 'therapon'. This person will always be with you. In sleep and in wake, in battle and in study. Most people do not choose this person until their coronation, or even their wedding. Are you sure you're ready to choose?"

'They're more than that,' Izuku had told him earlier that day, buttoning his shirt, 'Many people choose their spouse or their best friend. It's not uncommon for them to be lovers. Many kings who mate with betas choose them as their companions. It's a very serious decision... Are you sure you gave it enough thought?'

"Yes. I'm sure," Shouto met his father's eyes in challenge before turning to his mother, searching for something. Her blessing maybe?

Izuku stared at the ground, his mind racing with the possibilities. Kacchan was the most ferocious. Iida was the fastest. Yaoyorozu was probably the best option if anything. She was level headed and strong willed, but smart too. She was also a female beta, if Shouto was into that kind of thing.

    "Midoriya."

    Summary
    Anthology containing:

A Plague On Both Your Houses

Todoroki Shouto does not get sick. He has never gotten sick at school before, and he is most definitely not sick now. How could he be? He’s one of the most hygienic people in the class—it’s a low bar, admittedly, but still. There’s no reason Shouto could possibly be ill in this lifetime.

    It must be allergies. Right?

    Right.

(In which Todoroki Shouto has really bad "allergies" and Midoriya Izuku is the Mom Friend Shouto needs but doesn't deserve. Canon compliant with The Roots That Clutch, but can be read alone.)

    Success is Counted Sweetest

The thing about secrets, Shouto knows, is the longer you have to keep them, the harder they are to share.

(In which Todoroki Shouto is seventeen years old and stupid, and Midoriya Izuku has just gone through his first major growth spurt. Complete.)

    The Roots That Clutch

It all starts with a suggestion.

(In which Midoriya proposes an unorthodox way to keep in touch with Todoroki after graduation, and feelings get a little more complicated as the years pass.)

    Russian translation

    Of Withered Leaves

I remember, he wants to say, but his tongue is thick and heavy in his mouth. His hands shake as he drops the phone to the floor with a clatter, the video still rolling, and he doubles over as a splitting pain spears him right in the center of his aching, torn chest.

    I remember everything.

(In which Midoriya Izuku deals with the emotional fallout of losing his wife at the hands of a villain. Angst, The Roots That Clutch hidden scene post chapter 21.)

    Half-Past Three

Shouto’s equilibrium shifts and he finds himself leaning back into a pair of strong arms that wind their way around the curve of his waist, fingers fisting in the fabric of the expensive shirt he’s sure he doesn’t own. He sees freckles and the thick silver slash of a scar stretched across knuckles.

Nausea creeps up his throat, the sweet-rot taste of bile painting the back of his tongue in bold splashes. No, he thinks, but his thoughts are seeping through a sieve too quickly for him to catch. No, no, no—

(Somewhere in the city, a timepiece strikes thirteen.)

    (Or is it one?)

(In which Todoroki Shouto has a familiar nightmare and discovers that he doesn't know what he wants anymore. Compliant with The Roots That Clutch. Oneshot, complete.)

Time for You and Time for Me

Not real, Shouto tells himself as he traces the distinct edges of scars that traverse Izuku’s muscled forearm like arcs of the cruelest lightning. Not real, he repeats as he leans into the sensation of soft breath flowering across the exposed skin behind his left ear. There’s no way any of this is real.

Except that it is. It’s the realest thing Shouto’s ever felt in his life, and the warm, velvety contentment in his chest isn’t just a figment of his imagination.

    He’s happy. Really, truly happy.

Maybe it’ll stop feeling weird someday.

(In which Tuesday is the best day of the week, and Todoroki Shouto comes to terms with being stupidly, unequivocally in love.)

  14. Summary

As Todoroki learned at a tender age, growing up with your dad as the #2 hero in all of Japan has a few hazards—especially when you’re his designated prodigy and are constantly being goaded to do more, to be better.

Said hazards include: getting dragged to literally every villainous scene to observe from the sidelines, rigorous (and sometimes illegal) training sessions, and family issues out the whazoo.

But hey, at least his dad’s rival's kid is kind of cute.

  17. Summary

Shouto Midoriya is a boy with an easy life and an incredible quirk. Attending U.A. is only natural for him.
