    Wishful Thinking

Sometimes the smallest thing can cause the biggest changes. At the hospital after the fight at the airport in Leipzig, Tony confronts Natasha. Her response opens his eyes to what the team is and is not - and it's definitely not a family. With the truth staring him in the face, Tony is not about to let the Avengers, or anyone else, walk all over him again. He has more important things to do. Like saving the world.

Takes place during and just after Captain America Civil War. AU where Tony never went to Siberia.

    Russian Translation by Reading Hedgehog

    Wish List

After the battle at the airport in Germany, Tony realised that the Avengers had never been a family or even a team, and so he walked away. He never went to Siberia, and world events took a different direction. Now, after his epic press conference, the world - and the Rogues – must come to terms with this new reality. Doormat Tony Stark is now BAMF Tony Stark, and he intends to save the planet, with or without help.

    Best Wishes

A series of snippets, extra scenes, and add-ons in the 'Wish Upon a Stark' universe. It's probably best to read Wishful Thinking and Wish List first for clarity, but if you don't, the short summary is: Tony never went to Siberia. He took a different path, made new friends along the way, and ended up saving the world AND surviving Thanos.

No one could ever guess that The Avengers would fall to something known as The Peter Factor. This story tells of how each and every Avenger became wrapped around Peter Parker's finger without Peter even being aware of it.

    Summary

Tony Stark had lost his son when he was only 2 years old, stolen away in broad daylight with nobody the wiser of what exactly happened. Years later, Tony has just made it through the disaster with Ultron. He is trying to keep himself and the team together but relationships are strained and tempers are running high.
Then a random turn of events leads to his path crossing with that of a particular vigilante. They are strangers to each other, or so they think.

Peter Parker is on top of the world. After a few shitty years, losing his parents and then losing his Uncle, things are finally looking up. Sure he lives in a crappy little apartment with his Aunt but he might have just found his mission in life.

This is an AU story obvious by some of the tags. I'm starting out a few weeks after Age of Ultron took place. Civil War will be a thing.

    Summary

“I—I don’t know what’s happening,” Peter stumbles out, his eyes wide with terror, and neither does he. Tony has never felt so helpless and clueless, but fuck, the kid shouldn’t know fear like this. Realisation begins to dawn on his face, his fingers trembling where Tony has gripped them. “Mr Stark, I don’t want to go, I don’t—,”

There is Peter, and then there is nothing.

There is no universe out there where Tony Stark ever accepts the death of Peter Parker.

    Fireworks

So, when the first firework went off, Peter wasn't expecting it. He really wishes he thought about exactly what fireworks were and how much they would hurt.

Clint slapped Peter on the back as they watched the flame get closer to the end. Peter watched the flames dance over the purples and pinks before it exploded colorfully in the air. That made him realize why Mr. Stark had been staring at him earlier that day, almost dumbfounded.

Peter felt the fireworks boom in the sky, bright lights flashing over his crunched-together eye lids. His knees suck into the hard dirt as his whole body trembled from the stimulation.

Clint dropped next to him and put his big hands over Peter's. "Kid?" He said, concern laced his tone.

    Coming Out to... Mr. Stark?

"I have to tell you something, Mr. Stark." Peter said, his voice gave away that he was close to breaking down. His breathing got heavy and in an instant Mr. Stark was on him, soothing him, telling him that everything would be okay. Everything wouldn't be okay, Peter had a feeling... it was probably his anxiety, but that was pushed away quickly. "I-I like someone."

Mr. Stark smiled, rubbing the boys back. "What a lucky girl!" He cooed. Peter flinched out of the mans hold and walked away, back to him. His words made Peter want to crawl in a ball. He wanted to die. Peter was breaking all too fast, abnormally and unfixable.

"It's not a girl!" He blurted.

    When the Instincts Kick In

"Who's dehydrated?" Mr. Stark asked cockily. He clapped Dr. Banner's shoulder and smiled at him widely. Peter hadn't seen him so so happy with an avenger. Well, besides Peter anyway.

Dr. Banner have Peter a pointed look. "Peter, here." Mr. Stark gave his a stank face. He hated that face. "Tony, I think there's something else. When I studied your DNA samples awhile ago, I noticed that they are intertwined with those of the spider that bit you."

"So you're saying I'm half spider." Peter said dumbly.

Mr. Stark scoffed. "Is this news to you? Did you forget that you are, oh, I don't know... Spider-Man?"

Peter faked a gasp and a shoved look. "No way! That's so cool!"

Mr. Stark rolled his eyes. "When did you get so cocky?"

    "It's from you, sir."

    Why Tony Stark Hates Guns

Rain began to pour around them. Tony wanted to scream. Scream at Peter, scream at May for dying on him and at anyone that didn't return his smile.

The rain only made Peter cry harder. It also made him drop the gun on the ground. It clattered to a loud halt. "I don't want to go!" He cried, stumbling into Tony. "I don't want to go, sir please!" His voice cracked and so did Tony's heart.

"You're alright." Tony said, wrapping the boy around him. He sat them on the pavement, unable to hold their combined weight. He pet Peter's wet hair and pulled his own coat over them. Peter was shivering, his lips were blue in seconds. It's the spider bite, Tony thought.

Peter looked up at Tony, having no tears left to cry. "I'm sorry." He whispered, out of breath.

Tony held him closer, not saying anything else. If he did, he would break.

So yeah, Tony hates guns. Would you blame him?

    Peter Parker is Worthy

Peter slipped on his Spider-Man mask, almost smacking against his bed frame. He giggled. "Karen?"

"Yes, Peter. You seen intoxicated. Blood Alcohol Level seems to be 2.7%, shall I alert Mr. Stark?"

"No!" He yelped. "How do I get it out?"

    "Get what out?"

"Peter?" Mr. Stark asked, opening the door to the dark bedroom. His worried expression turned blank. "You're drunk, aren't you."
    -
    Oh, and Thor's there too.

    Anesthesia-less

"Stop when you get to the opening so you don't crash land again."

"That was one time!" He whined, ripping through his webbing. His muscles ached, he needed a nap, and he was starving. It was a common but unwanted trio in Peter's life.

"Kid, stop!" Mr. Stark yelled, opening his helmet. He was right, Peter didn't pay attention to the end of the forest as he swung himself into the ground. Mr. Stark was chuckling down at him, offering him a metal hand. "You okay?"

Peter nodded, accepting the help. He was hoisted to his feet with a flare from his back. He grunted, making Mr. Stark look at him but he didn't say anything.

    Just a Friendly Flu

Peter first saw Mr. Stark standing cross arms as he gracefully descended the steps, stopping about 20 feet away form them. "Were you hit by a car? Or the plague?" He joked, masking his worried tone.

"'M fine, Mr. Stark. Today's training day right?" He slurred, stumbling into his mentor.

Mr. Stark grabbed him with an iron grip at arms length, as if he didn't know what to do. He probably didn't because he looked disgusted. Peter was receiving a lot of those looks today. Standing was too exhausting for Peter, his tiredness taking him over. He was surprised when Mr. Stark didn't hesitate to swoop in and carry him bridal style. He seemed to be waiting for an explanation and gave up when Peter's head lolled onto his shoulder. The man huffed out a breath that tickled Peter's scalp. "I might have let you if you weren't on the verge of death. Maybe next time, Parker."

    Unspoken Words

Peter smiled, that big smiled Tony would never get enough of. He soaked it in, trying to remember every smile and laugh the kid had. Tony regretted every time he didn't return that smile. Every time he brushed it off as idolization or plain stupidity because he'd never seen someone smile so much. "Tony, I'm sorry."

Tony cupped the boys face in his bloody hands. He wishes it wasn't Peter blood. He wishes he wasn't in this scenario, he would take anything. Anything. "You can apologize when you pick another shitty movie tomorrow night. It is your pick after all."

Peter chuckled, then winced in pain. "Please, don't- don't miss me too much, m'kay?"

5 Time Peter Parker Almost Dies

... and one time he does.

Obama Wouldn't Treat Me Like This!

Tony made a fake gasp. "Another injury he did not tell me about, wow. I am so so shocked."

Peter rolled his eyes and bit his lip. Dr. Banner was right, what ever he was rubbing on Peter leg almost made him scream, wiping the grin of Tony's face in a quick second. Peter couldn't help but rip at the couch, his hands went right through it. He felt the liquid run through his blood stream all the way down to his toes.

When it was finally over Peter was breathing heavily, pain slowly coursing out of him. He smiled weakly at the two scared-looking men. "This didn't happen to me when Obama was president."

Tony groaned. Peter couldn't help but laugh. Bruce looked confused. "Who's the president?" He asked.

"You don't want to know." Tony muttered.

    Midnight Snack

He heard Peter giggle and something dropped on his head- was that cereal? "Up here."

Tony groaned. "Were you raised in a barn?"

"No, just bitten by a radioactive spider." Peter was perched on the ceiling in a perfect hang from his web shooters. In another web, there was a box of cereal.

Wake Up and Dust Me Off

"Mr. Parker," Karen said through his mask. He had missed her, and it helped him feel less alone and more whole. Karen made him feel like he wasn't just dust. "I advise you to get some sleep, as it has been too long to properly function without it. Would you like me to alert Mr. Stark?"

Peter groaned. "Why do you always want to tell on me, Karen?"

She hummed, as if wanting to smile. "Mr. Stark has programmed me to care for you while you are incapable of doing so yourself."

    Scrapped

These are my raw drafts that didn't quite make it anywhere, but are still something! Most will be fluff and have no real depth. They are also unedited and have NO PLOT! Thank you :)

    Soap and Water

Peter lets his skin burn under the hot water and barely winces when soap accidentally falls into his left eye. The washcloth slips around the bruises on his hip bones with more ease than Peter would like to admit. He traces them with the urge to rip at that part of his skin. He just gets more soap and continues to lather his dirty body in vain. They’ll be gone the next time he wakes up, but the image is burned to the back of his eyelids.

5 Times Tony Stark Gives Peter Parker a Nick Name

... and one time he used his full name.

    In Another Life

Tony didn’t get to see his first steps, but he gets to see all the ones after that. Tony can’t imagine a life without Peter Parker or at least, he doesn’t want to.

    Five Moments

Rhodey stood up and gave Tony a soft smile. “You’ll make a good dad someday.”

Tony smiled back, letting his rough fingers glide across Peter’s cheeks. “I think I’m doing pretty good so far.”

How Many Nights Does it Take to Count the Stars?

Peter scrunches his eyebrows, much to his mentor's amusement. "Like, Buzz Lightyear?"

Tony can't hide the smile, his face betrays him and shows the true happiness he feels in this moment. He only chuckles and shrugs. "To infinity and beyond, kid."

Show Me a Hero, I'll Write You a Tragedy

Tony taking care of Peter post-snap

    -

“Will you be there when I wake up?” Peter muttered sleepily. If he’d been more awake, the question would have embarrassed him but his eyes were already closed.

Tony nodded. “Yeah,” he whispered. “I will be.”

When I Drift Off, I Will Dream About You

    We're in the endgame now.

    -

Tony leaned forward and tapped his helmet with a shaky hand, “This thing on?”

Blue light swarmed his vision, his eyes blinded with it immediately. He leaned back into the cold metal and spoke, bypassing the lump in his throat with the choked words. “Hey Mister Parker,” he said softly “if you find this recording, don’t feel bad about this.” He sucked in a breath. He knows the kid will hate the next sentence. “Part of the journey is the end. Just for the record, being adrift at space with-” he stuttered “without you is about as promising as it sounds. Food and water ran out… four days ago, oxygen’ll run out tomorrow morning.”

He gets up and makes his way to the galaxy. The stars shining so bright seamlessly, no purpose at all. He only sees these kinds of stars in Queens, wishing he would see them again before he goes.

    “That’ll be it.”

    No New Messages

“Mister Stark I finished the robot from last week! It's so amazing and looks a little like DUM-E now that I'm looking at him. I named him Oscar, he looks like an Oscar. Bye- bye!”

    -

Tony listens to Peter's voicemails post-snap.

You're Stuck With Me Now, Tony Stark

“No,” is all Tony can say with another dry swallow. Happens a lot when he’s especially anxious. Who knew that simply speaking to an eleven-year-old could trigger such a reaction?

Peter cocks a brow and asks Tony why he’s here.

And Tony blurts out the first thing that comes to mind.

Peter looks at him confusedly in response and asks, “Why would you want to replace my glasses?”

    ---

Tony has almost nothing to look forward to. Nothing to drive him. Nothing to move him. He's stuck in a funk, living day-to-day, the horrors of his past and the realities of his present bearing down on him harder and harder with each passing day; his mind coming up with new ways to belittle him every day.

That is, of course, until he meets a baby-faced kid with a proclivity towards scientific advancement.

And, suddenly, things don't seem too bad anymore. Shame Tony can't really understand why.

I'm Stuck on You, Tony Stark

The grin’s sincere, but it’s not quite reaching his eyes, and the man can’t stop fidgeting in his seat, and every so often he’ll flick a gaze over towards the clock Steve knows to be behind his head despite the fact that he’s already wearing a watch.

He asks if he's okay before he even thinks twice about it.

Tony laughs, “Peachy keen. Never better. I’m just full of sunshines and rainbows and unicorns.”

“And of shit, too, apparently,” Steve responds.

    ---

Those who said that Tony Stark didn't have a heart, in Steve's most esteemed opinion, were morons who didn't know a fragment of the man he does, because it's safe to say that, if anything, Tony Stark has probably too much heart. And Steve can't help but love him for it - though he knows he can never have him.

We'll Stick With You, Steve Rogers

“Steve, I wanna get you and Tony together.”

“I thought you were done with this,” Steve manages to groan, suddenly unable to make eye contact with a person not even a fourth of his (chronological) age.

“No, not done,” Peter says with decision heavy in his voice, “Just put on the backburner for a bit.”

‘A bit’ is a bit of an understatement, considering it’s been weeks since they had the conversation about Peter’s obvious desire to see Steve and Tony together.

Steve doesn’t note on that, however.

    ---

A lot's happened these past few months- Peter's officially joined the family, everybody's happy, everything's just great- but he figures that just means that it was high time for drama to start ripping what he's gained to shreds and dare to try and take one of his most precious people from him.

Please Stick With Me, Steve Rogers

Steve stands awkwardly at the doorway, as if he must be invited in so that he may enter.

“Are you a secret vampire, Steve?” Tony asks, eyebrow raised to mask the worry.

Steve smiles a bit. “No,” he says, shaking his head, “Just not quite sure what’s supposed to happen next is all.”

    “What happens next?” he echoes.

Steve shifts a bit, obviously embarrassed. “I’m not an idiot,” Steve mumbles, “I’m just not sure of the… the protocol of what’s supposed to happen.”

He can’t help but parrot right back the word, “Protocol?”, not as so much confused as he is amused now, because he can’t help but imagine them drafting a battle plan for sex.

    ---

It's been over a month since the incident with the Mandarin, and Tony couldn't be happier now, with his newfound relationship with Steve and the loving, paternal relationship he has with his son - but a small part of him (maybe, admittedly, not very small at all) can't ignore the sense of crippling doubt to the durability of their relationship, especially given the kind of man he knows himself to be.

    To Become

But he doesn’t. He’s come too far and Dad says that Stark men are made of iron, and Peter’s not a Stark but he’s the son of one so that counts for something. He’s got a big name to live up to, and as such he stands his ground, imagining himself to be a iron pole ripping up through the concrete, opens his mouth and says,

    ”HiI’mPeterParkerandIthinkyou’vebeenlookingformemayIcomeinplease?"

    ...

Our teenage years are a time for us, as people, to find out who we are, who we are made to be in the world around us, which is hard enough to figure out if you're normal. Try being the secret adopted son of Captain America and Iron Man.

I Wanted to Stick by You, Tony Stark

WARNING: Infinity War spoilers. Canonical character death will ensue.
    ...

He has his share of slip ups, obviously, because nobody’s perfect but Dad has come to forgive him for them. Sure, he was pretty steamed about that for a while, but even Dad admits the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is looking to become a remarkable influence of good for the city.

    ...

As the time winds down, Peter recounts the five points he’d agreed to when Tony allowed him to take up the mantle of Spider-Man, and the regrets he has obtained from the life he has led.
