Akira didn’t really mind the whole “learn as you go” approach, but as Igor granted him more power, he started to feel strange side effects – random fits of anger, melancholy, mania – without any obvious source. In a fit of inexplicable rage, he storms into Mementos on his own, only to be saved by another persona-user wearing a black and purple body suit…
Forming a tentative alliance, they delve into Mementos to discover the source of their strange, shared power, and begin to unravel a vast conspiracy, the cogs of which were set in motion long before Akira ever came to Shibuya.

Ryuji and Ann blinked and blinked again trying to figure out what Morgana is trying to say. He watched as the gears churn in their head and they come to an epiphany, their faces growing horrified at the implications.
“Wait, you are saying. Joker can insta-kill literally everything in this palace. WITHOUT using SP at all?!” Ryuji clarified in astonishment because there is no way there isn’t a catch to this. “Without repercussion?!”
“Yes. That is exactly what I’m saying.”

Summary
Akechi had had every intention of shooting Ren in the interrogation room and claiming victory over his rival after setting him up for capture at Sae's palace. It was supposed to be so simple - he would go in, shoot Ren in the head, arrange the scene to make it a suicide, and then leave to carry out the next parts of his plans. But Ren, who's looking far too calm and collected for someone seconds away from death, invites him for one last conversation at the table. As a last gesture of respect, Goro agrees to this request...starting off a chain of events that completely derails the rigged and twisted game that a megalomaniac dictator and god have tried to trap them in.
And all the while, Goro cannot figure out the enigma that is Ren Amamiya, and how he knows far more than what should be possible...

“Wha-“ Goro tries, but his voice is shaky and small in a way that makes him sound years younger than his actual age – which is unacceptable, and he has to swallow hard, before he can try again. “What- where is this?”
“This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter,” the old man says, as if that’s actually an explanation.

Summary
Akechi had the perfect plan.
He had been trailing the Thieves through Shidos palace for hours. They were getting tired, but kept pushing on nevertheless. They only needed one more letter of recommendation to open the door to Shido, and Akechi would patiently let them do the dirty work for him. He would ambush them on their way back out, giving Joker his promised rematch and taking the letters for himself after proving once and for all why he was better than all of them!
At least that had been his plan before the Thieves started to lose their current battle. It was just a bunch of random Shadows, and yet they were making quick work of the Thieves. It was somehow not as satisfying to watch as he had imagined.
He watched them being taken down one after the other.
This wasn't good.
The leader of the Shadows raised his weapon to finish Joker off.
