    Summary

Draco Malfoy's fate is changed when his future-self rather rudely drops in and burdens him with the task of changing the course of time. To save himself and the future of the wixen world. With only an enchanted old journal and his outstanding wit in hand, Draco must do all that he can to change his fate, all the while failing miserably to not fall in love with a certain scar-headed someone.

    Anthology containing:

Draco Malfoy & the Journal of Dreadful Things

“Draco, nothing is how we wanted it to be. It wasn't what we were raised to believe,” Future-Draco emphasised, eyes pleading, mouth a grim line. “You need to change our fate.”

The boy's gaze snapped back up to the man's.

“What? How am I supposed to –?”

“Today is the thirty-first of July nineteen ninety-one, yes?” Future-Draco asked, reaching inside his cloak. Draco nodded, frowning.

“Today is the day you meet Harry Potter.”

    “I do?!” Draco gasped, delighted.

Future-Draco paused in his actions, his face scrunched into a sneer. “Yes,” he said, “you meet him when you get your robes fitted at Madam Malkin's. You don't make a good first impression, clearly.”

“Why ever not?” Draco pouted. “What's not to like about me?”

Draco Malfoy & the Horror of the Heir

Draco Malfoy is having the worst summer of his life. It's too hot, his father keeps having strange meetings, and worst of all, Harry Potter won't respond to any of his owls.

Oh well. At least there won't be any strange magical books showing up to ruin this school year.

Draco Malfoy & the Study of Muggles

Draco Malfoy is determined to have a much calmer school year after the events of the last one. With no possession or petrifications, surely he can just get on with his studies and mess around like a normal thirteen year old, right?

Apparently not when you're friends with stupid scarheaded Harry Potter and your deranged cousin's broken out of Azkaban.

The Rebel Alliance has their doomed cause, and now Han Solo has his: Keep Luke Skywalker breathing until he realizes what a karking naïve idiot he is and unquestioningly follows all of Han's advice.

Han Solo is a scoundrel, and a rogue, and a guy who's just trying his best when Luke Skywalker fumbles chest over camtono into his life. Turns out, he might actually sort of love the kid in all the ways there is to love another person, even as they fight in a civil war, and life and circumstances change both them and everything else around.

The problem is that Luke is a little lonely by nature and is always on the hunt for love, and Han, who's sworn to protect him from both the galaxy at large and Luke's own efforts toward idiotic martyrdom, doesn't think that there's really anybody in the galaxy who's good enough for him. He's not going to stick his nose into any of Luke's relationships, not if Luke doesn't want him to, but boy howdy do they give him one hell of a headache.

[Or, the 5+1 things fic that spun entirely out of my control, where it's Han, Luke, the five men who loved and lost Luke, and the one he eventually married, all over the course of 10 years. Spoiler alert, it's not Han.]

Olivia Draper had been a good idea at first. She could pass for older than Tim could pull off while masculine and women really could get into places easier if they had a pretty face. With makeup and some stylish-yet-inexpensive clothes, Olivia could pull off most undercover ops. She was Tim’s Matches Malone.

Then Hood had shown up on the scene.
    -----------------------------------
When Jason met Olivia, he hadn't intended to pull a Bruce and take the scrappy teen informant under his wing. She just kept showing up where he was doing business. He had no other choice than to keep an eye on her. And kit her out with armor so she wouldn't accidentally get shot. And make sure she was being treated fairly by her mysterious boss.

And, okay, maybe become her big brother.

Not wanting to see Joja take over his legacy, Eli, Ava and Mal agree to take the leap, despite knowing next to nothing about farming. For his part, Alex is just trying to get by; he's not looking for anything, and definitely not from the Big Man's grandkids. Summary
    Anthology containing:

    Wayne Manor

Thomas and Martha Wayne are Gotham's most famous martyrs. They used to be a wife and a husband, a mother and a father, doting parents. They could also be cunning, wicked, glamorous, decadent; an heir and a gold-digger, beautiful people in a beautiful house. It takes a certain kind of parents to make a man like Bruce Wayne, and Alfred can't take all the blame. He can't even take most of it.

    Empty Graves

Time travelers who plan to kill Superman never account for Martha Kent in their plans. She may not be the World's Finest, but she's a mother with a shotgun, and all told that might be scarier.

    Hardening Off

Martha Kent adopted an alien, and against all odds it went about as well as that sort of thing can go. Even if the journey was a bigger pain than the destination might lead one to believe.

    Gotham High

Between freshman and sophomore year, Bruce Wayne had a growth spurt. He did not get any better at socializing.

    Intoxicating

Lois and Clark's first kiss didn't count. Because... reasons.

    Bad Publicity

Bruce Wayne is either really bad at Twitter, or really, really good.

    Third Wheel

It isn't quite a love triangle. For one thing, Clark's the only one romantic enough to even think the word 'love'. For another, Clark and Bruce would be beating the holy hell out of each other even without Lois' involvement. And if Lois was aware of the secrets they were keeping, she'd be beating the holy hell out of the both of them. Overall, Bruce's visit to Metropolis has been a mixed bag for everyone involved.

    Matches

What in the hell kind of name for an alias is Matches?

    Reviving a Tomb

Selina Kyle doesn't like Gotham. Batman doesn't like thieves. He's too old for her. She's too young for him. They aren't quite strangers, but they really are.

    Hostile Work Environment

Clark Kent is a menace, and Lois doesn't get why she's the only one to have noticed.

    Perfect Alibi

Bruce Wayne is very popular at parties. Bruce Wayne always has an alibi. These two things are related, and only sometimes on purpose.

    Office Meeting

Bruce Wayne deals with supervillains almost as much as Batman does.

    Give and Take

They always seem to be running into each other at museums. He only ties her up sometimes. She still always manages to get more than he'd planned to give.

    Christmas in Kansas

Clark Kent invites Bruce Wayne and Diana of Themyscira to his parents' house for Christmas. It goes, in general, pretty okay.

    Sweet

The Dark Knight strikes fear into the hearts of men. And pretty much just men. It's a problem.

    Gotham's Favorite Son

    Thanks, Gotham side of Tumblr.

    Arm Candy

Where Bruce Wayne goes, models follow. It's almost a joke, the way he wears them like watches, girls too young for him hanging off his arms. It's a wonder he can even tell them apart.

    Unpaid Internship

The Justice League needs to stop a world-ending doomsday event, but that happens so often it's barely even interesting. What's more interesting is who Batman brought with him to work. This raises a lot of questions, and Batman isn't answering them.

    Partition

Bruce Wayne does not get the appeal of sex in the back of a limo, but he's pretty sure it's all Beyonce's fault.

    Unfamiliar Faces

Black Canary has never met Batman before, but he's pretty sure he recognizes her. Zatanna is less than thrilled.

    Informed Consent

Lois doesn't actually believe that handjobs don't count as sex. She just needs to convince Clark that they don't count. None of this would even be an issue if he'd just stop trying to keep secrets from her.

    Invasive

Batman and Poison Ivy team up to fight kudzu. Or not.

    Anti-Social

    Batman needs a Robin.

    No Whammies

Poison Ivy has captured Nightwing, which means a very serious rescue mission is necessary.

    Unmasked

Catwoman is Selina Kyle, and Bruce has always known it. Batman is Bruce Wayne, but Selina just found that out. Shockingly, it turns out the dude has issues.

    versus

Whoever wins... we also win. It's a win-win situation. Batman is lying when he says that it isn't. Don't listen to Batman.

    Unrealistic

What do Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman think about when they're trying to get off? A serious question seeking serious answers.

    AUX

The most contentious part of any road trip is the playlist.

    Race Around the Lot

Who's faster: Superman, or the Flash?

    Let's Dance

They're trapped in a ghost ballet. You can't punch ethereal ballerinas. It's not just rude, it's physically impossible. They're going to be stuck there forever and then die, probably.

    Night Shift

Metropolis never sleeps, but Superman does. Most nights, anyway.

    Superfluous

Wonder Woman and Catwoman have sex in Batman's bed. Bruce has a difficult life, full of angst and suffering.

    Comes In Threes

Felicity Smoak has a bad track record with billionaires.

    Nominal

Don't ask why Batman is sad unless you're willing to give him the time to consult his spreadsheet.

    Whammied

Welcome to the sex pollen quarantine zone (this fic, this fic is the quarantine zone).

    Stolen Moments

Selina Kyle spends all day in bed, and then takes a bath. Lots of cats get petted.

    Gone Fishing

A very normal vacation with friends.

    Backup

Nightwing shows up ten minutes late with McDonald's.

    Miscellany

Various short bits and pieces from Tumblr that don't justify their own fic, and aren't planned to become part of anything larger.

    Sleeping As I Walk

“Where did you learn that?” Tony asks, voice raw.

The twiddling stops. That’s all Tony can make out from the outskirts of his line of vision. He’s not ready to lift his head from his hands yet and look at the kid.

    “Um, Google?”

“Geez.” The things kids Google these days. Tony has half a mind to ask what drove Peter to search ways to stop a panic attack, but the better part of him leaves the question untouched.
    ---
Beneath his cavalier, sassmaster exterior, Tony’s a sensitive guy. Peter knows that. Being faced with a full-grown man in the middle of an anxiety attack, however, is a completely different story, and Peter must draw on all his own strength and maturity to offer Tony a shoulder to lean on.

    Soccer Mom Moment

“I’m going to tell Aunt May.”

Tony briefly halts his ministrations to pull Peter back a bit by the shoulders. “Okay, kid, first off, that’s my line. Secondly, do you really think that the woman who showed off your baby pictures to me will give a crap about me tickling your head?”

Peter deflates. “So maybe I didn’t think that ultimatum through.”

“No kidding, buddy. Now you’ve just given me source material for, oh, I don’t know, a potential bargaining opportunity. How ’bout this. I promise not to tell Aunt May about your ticklish problem”--even Tony interrupts himself with a snicker, earning a truly angsty teenage groan from Peter--“and you promise to let me take pictures of you in the Spider-Man bowtie.”

    “You call this bargaining?”

“Actually, no, it’s blackmail. Always knew you were a smart kid.”
    ---
Or, the one where May is bedridden with a cold, she and Tony are probably conniving to embarrass Peter further than his sixteen-year-old heart can take it, and all the kid wants is a haircut before his very important bioengineering conference across the country.

    Time Shifting Weight

A full-body flinch courses through Peter. It’s not alarming--just a neurological tic of exhaustion that has Tony on his feet and crossing the small patch of distance left between them to sit on the nearest corner of the coffee table.

Peter opens his eyes and blinks up at Tony, or rather at the shadow that falls over his pale face, and gives a tiny wave that under any other specific set of circumstances would be downright ridiculous. “Hi, Mr. Stark.”

    “Hi, kid. Wanna talk?”

Peter goes to open his mouth but hesitates. They both know he’s too intelligent to play the innocent card now. The words replay themselves of their own accord in Tony’s mind--instant kill, instant kill, instant, kill, kill--

One good look at Peter’s eyes confirms the kid is on the same page.
    ---
When Tony gets the alert that Spider-Man has activated Instant Kill Mode for the first time, he expects to see May being kidnapped on the footage, or maybe Ned or even MJ. The last thing he expects is to see Peter with his fingers wrapped around the neck of a random teenager. Lying in the shadows under a coffee table, Peter finally pours out to Tony the details of his troubled past.

    Sometimes We're Holding Angels

Peter tears his gaze from his knees to affix it with a startling alertness on her. For what feels to Pepper like one of the longest seconds in history, he does nothing but stare, slack-jawed, his mind speeding through all the possible permutations of her statement before settling on one explanation. The realization doesn’t go off like a light bulb in his eyes; it’s slow and hesitant, just on the edge of heart-wrenching in its quivering optimism.

    “You too?”

Pepper knows this is the first time he’s dared--he is daring--to hope that something, something will be okay. That not everything in his bones is broken.

    “Me too.”
    ---
Looking around at all his fellow heroes who nurse nightmares and secret panic attacks, Peter turns to a surprising advocate--Pepper--in his quest to determine if his emotional detachment is a symptom of sociopathy. Tony may not know exactly what Peter is going through, but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t try his best to make it better for him. Even if that does involve getting stuck in an underground Legoland attraction. (He always knew heart-to-heart talks would be the death of him.)

Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out

Tony lolls his head back with as much drama as Peter. “You’re seventeen years old. Why are you so responsible about ice cream flavors?”

“Wow. Is Tony Stark promoting irresponsibility?” Peter squints at him as he downs another spoonful.

“Don’t sound so shocked, Spiderling. I’m sure Rhodey has already regaled you with tales of the forty-seven different ways Tony Stark can collapse drunk down the stairs. Or was it forty-three? I know my record of collapsing was around thirty percent of all parties attended and fifty percent of attempts to impress a potential partner. In fact, when I was just a little older than--”

“Ew. Please just stop talking, Mr. Stark. I do not need to be traumatized today by your escapades.”

“That’s not fair. You listen well enough in sex ed to get an A in the class.”

    “I listen when it’s educational.”
    ---
Being part spider doesn’t mean you lose your fear of spiders. Tony learns this the hard way when he hears Peter shrieking his head off in the lab and dashes in, thinking his mentee is probably getting torn from limb to limb.

    Fragile and Composed

“I’m not sneaking behind your back! What the--and I’m not getting brainwashed.”

“Sure. So the whole ‘we fight for our ideals and yeah, people get hurt but what matters is taking down the bad guy’ spiel is totally your idea.”

Peter gesticulates wildly with a visceral groan. “I--stop putting words into my mouth! I didn’t say it like that!”

“Oh, really. Then please, by all means, rephrase it for me. Because it sure as hell sounded like a spitting image of Captain America’s rousing pep talk about fighting for good ole Uncle Sam and his fucking outdated ideals.”

“I don’t even like Mr. Rogers.”

“Yeah, buddy, it sure sounds like you don’t."
    ---
When Steve Rogers shows up in Tony’s backyard a year after Berlin, there’s nothing Peter would like better than to clock Captain America in the jaw. So how does the kid end up taking advice solely from Steve about bullies and losing control at the homophobe that has been harassing him and his friend? And how will Peter begin to repair the trust that Tony now feels is broken between them?

    You Won't Notice the Fall

    "Mr. Stark?"

    Oh, frick. Not again.

    "Mm?"

"Did you know snakes can get sniffles?"

"That's...an oddly specific piece of trivia, kiddo."

"I volunteered at a vet clinic in freshman year. You'd be surprised how many people own albino garden snakes..."
    ---
It’s T minus six hours until Tony has to get up for his special presentation at the bioengineering conference, and here he is, stuck in a dark and frigid hotel room with the blinds rattling, doing his best not to smother himself with a pillow because this kid. Just. Won’t. Shut. Up.

When You Give a Super Sniffles

“I, uh...um. Yeah. I’m a grinder. I mean, a teeth grinder! I--I grind my teeth. At night. Because…” He makes an ineffective gesture with his hands. “Because that’s when people normally grind their teeth.”

Tony casts him a withering look, gets up, and returns from the kitchen with an ice pack wrapped in a dish towel. “This should help with the swelling.”

“Oh, goodie.” Peter accepts the ice pack with an eye roll. “I love using these things every day. Love ’em more than Ned.”

“Are you usually this much of an asshole when you’re sick, or is this just special treatment for me?”

“You said I’m not supposed to feed your ego, Mr. Stark.”
    ---
Who even gets sick on their birthday? One (1) sticky boy, apparently. Tony swears Peter Parker is a walking, (over)talking, sneezing curse because before he knows it, he, too, is sick on his birthday. Featuring tinsel scarves, way too many pop culture references to pickles, and an Uncle Rhodey who never outgrew his mother-henning days from MIT.

    (You Can't Stop) DNA

“Kid.” Tony busies his hands by wiping them down with one of the brown recycled napkins to pat away the phantom stickiness between his fingers. When Peter doesn’t respond immediately, Tony flits the corner of the napkin at his nose. Peter starts.

Tony’s mouth twitches involuntarily. “Pete. Look alive for a bit, huh? Why don’t you tell me how your day went?”

The boy rubs at the side of his face with a soft fist as if to erase the imaginary drool and embarrassment. “You know how my day went. Pretty much. You were there for the whole man-in-a--”

“--In-a-purple-cape-and-an-otter-mask debacle, yeah, I know. I was the one who personally promised to sue Party City for selling those abominations to the public. I was there,” Tony finishes for him wryly. As Peter’s head bobs and dips unnaturally low, Tony flicks at his chin this time with the end of his paper-wrapped straw. “I was talking about before that.”
    ---
A night out to Friendly's post-patrol dredges up an unwanted memory of when Howard took little Tony out for ice cream after hitting him. Though Tony Stark today may be a man, that doesn't mean the memory of the rare affection amid the abuse doesn't still confuse him.

    Borrow Hope to Understand

Tony may not be crying, but the warble of his voice tells a different story when he speaks up again. “He was good for me. And he was good. He was the one who helped me understand I didn’t have to throw away what I believed in because of what I had with him. I mean, granted, it took me probably another decade at that point to actually get it, but at least he got the hammer going in my thick skull.”

“You do have a thick skull sometimes,” Peter grumbles.

“I take offense at that, Underoos. I have a thick skull all the time.”

Tony can practically hear the eye-roll in the kid’s tone. “I wonder sometimes what I idolized in you as a kid.”

“A question for you to answer, kid, not me. I’m just the washed-up has-been engineer playing with million-dollar titanium alloy toys in his tower.”

“I would love to take a dissertation to your face with, like, ninety-five theses on why you’re wrong,” Peter retorts, “but I’m more invested in the story. Why did you...why do you say you didn’t have to throw away everything you believed in?”
    ---
Tony helps Peter in more ways than he'll ever know to come to grips with his sexuality and his feelings about Ned.

    Our Finest Gifts We Bring

“I thought you were upstate!” Peter says in what is quite arguably a prepubescent squeak. “How’d you--how’d you get here?”

Tony’s mouth twitches. He pockets his shades and unzips his wool pea coat with a flamboyant gesture. “Well, you see, Mr. Parker, when you’re a billionaire, you have these things called chauffeurs--”

“Well, I know that.” Peter has the audacity to frown in impatience. “Happy’s outside? He can totally come inside. I mean, if you’re staying, that is--I didn’t mean--uh.”

“Of course I’m staying. Your Aunt Panini bullied me into this,” says Tony with a wave of his hand. When Peter moves toward the door, he adds, “Happy’s not here. I flew over.”

Peter does a comical yo-yo motion, darting his head back and forth between Tony and the door. “Is it--is the suit here?” he whisper-yells with a pointed finger and more reverence than he ever showed Tony Stark himself collectively.

    --

Or, the one where Tony comes over expecting to babysit Peter and help decorate over Christmas weekend, but instead learns there's yet another side to the kid's pure-hearted generosity that lives on in the face of loss, death and poverty.

    Matching Converse Are for Nerds

Rhodey smiles warmly at Peter. “By the way, happy belated birthday, kid. Sorry to hear you were down yesterday with that nasty infection from your braces. Tony here has--”

“Nah-ah-ah!” Tony claps sharply in an attempt to get his best friend to shut the hell up. “This is Peter’s day. A day for Peter’s accomplishments, Peter’s wishes and, more importantly, Peter’s embarrassments. We can save the MIT stories for my actual birthday.”

“As much as I’m dying to hear how you turned MIT upside-down,” says Peter with a shit-eating grin, “I think I witness enough embarrassment from you on a day-to-day basis to tide me over till next year.”

Tony points at the kid. Actually points at him. “Colonel Rhodes, arrest this wall-crawler.”

“Right honorific, wrong profession. Sorry, Tones. The wall-crawler appreciates my hexagons. I’m Switzerland.”

“You’re not Switzerland!” Tony sputters in protest. “You couldn’t be farther from Switzerland!”

    --

After Peter's brief stint with an oral infection, Tony takes Peter on a belated sixteenth-birthday shopping trip to an outlet mall. And no, he is in no way acting like an overprotective dad the whole time.

    This Is a Mad Boy

In and out. In and out.

It's no trick of the light: it never was. Not the red-rimmed eyes behind broken glasses, not the tremors under Peter's skin that he chose to ignore. Not the crimson painting his kid's chest in muddy rivers now, seeping out and pooling underneath him.

His fingers are soaking. There's a goddamn metal pole impaling his kid's shoulder and all Tony can think of is how his fingers are wet.

No. No. This was not supposed to happen to a human. Peter's not supposed to be human.

    --

Peter sees her in his dreams. He can hear her last scream as she hurtled down, feel the bend and snap of her spine as he shot out a web too late to halt her tumble to certain death. MJ is dead. And she's dead because of Peter.

Weeks after a Spider-Man-related accident that kills MJ and that Peter won't talk about, Tony and the Avengers are embroiled in a battle with the American Mutant Management Organization (AMMO), a group that is hell-bent on eliminating all superhuman beings with their newly developed serum--a serum that presents too great of a temptation for Peter as he struggles to process his own grief and guilt over MJ and believes he no longer deserves to be Spider-Man.
